Here's my recreation of Super Mario Bros. for the NES, made in GameMaker Studio 2.3! The version 1.0 of this project was finished in roughly May and I'm not actively working on it anymore, so here it is in its "finished" form. (this is an entirely different project from my 2018 videos!)
This project was going to contain a level editor & SMB2J's levels, but I got busy with programming commercial projects, work, and school... so I ultimately canned the idea of expanding this further. At the end of the day, I wouldn't be able to release an executable anyway, so it's whatever, haha.
Some bugs did appear in this video! Namely me literally just clipping through a wall in 2-4 when doing the Mario Maker crouch jump, and 7-4's maze not working properly once. Oops!
The remake also features a custom character slot to add in your own character. It can be a traditional character, or just big form & health-system based!
