Finally I have found a video of someone who has decent skills at the game. All I could find on KZfaq were noobies who can barely jump over a goomba, and constantly forget they can run.

how is this a speed run?

Its amazing how drastically the difficultly level has increased in the expert levels of the 100 Mario Challenge. I find myself laughing while watching videos from back in September compared to now! It is fun to watch the changes!

You'd think more people would be aware that a player could just bypass their whole level if they're able to get a lakitu cloud :\ It's still funny nonetheless when you get one, though XD

When you realize this wasn't even a speed run and you've wasted 47 minutes of your life

People need to realize that since the levels are random, you NEED at least a little time to kind of figure out the level. That's why you can't necessarily always be THAT fast in a game like this. Even a skilled Mario player can suffer at the hands of bad level designers.

hey people dont read the comments here, most of them dont have a clue what they talking about, this is a speed run (yes he die often) but you see any other video of this, if you dont believe me watch summer game done quick or awesome game done quick on youtube, they die often, also this is not a play through like some people say here, it's a speed run on SDA (speed demo archive) the rules of speed running is finishing the game the fastest possible, nothing on their rules claim that dying once is not a speed run, so for now make you own choices.

Speed runs take a high amount of talent and lots of practice. That being said how do you practice something that's random and always changing? Of course anyone doing this is going to mess up often he'll even in speed runs of other mario games you find mishaps

It IS a speed run. These levels are hand made. There is no practice running for these wild random levels. Bowsers after u like crazy!!! I would have given up for the night on the 5th death.

Nothing wrong with this, its very much O.K. But, don't call it 'speedrun' if its not really a speedrun, I get not anyone can be able to commentate, but going in to the video to at least edit in some funny comments would've been enough to puul through.

People should really just keep in mind that this final level is almost kaizo-like in the way it's set up, and for going in blind this run wasn't that bad. Chill out, really. You do realize that most speedruns are practiced thoroughly, front to back, until you're virtually running on instinct. You can't do that when the game assigns random levels.
