I’d rather pay $60 for a game on a new system that costed $50 on the previous system than buy the old system for $100 only to play one game

The joycons have wii like motion controls, meaning you point it at your t.v to aim a pointer. You can also get a capacitive touch screen stylus for for accurate controls. The wii u was a failure, shouldn't punish people who want to play mario maker because they're never going to buy a dead machine.

All I want is a port of Super Mario Maker. idc if it is $60

Making levels on the TV is not a big deal. Also, pack in a soft-tipped stylus inside each already empty case.

I’m gonna comment on your points. 1. This is a good point. Although there are a few ways to try and compromise it. You could use Motion/Pointer controls (like World of Goo). And they could sell styluses for Handheld Mode if it gets that bad. I wouldn’t care all too much if you could build in TV Mode or not, as the Handheld Mode would obviously be better. 2. Mario Maker was already 60 dollars to begin with, and yes; they SHOULD add more content. It would make it more worthwhile to Wii U owners. 3. I agree with you. Those people don’t understand that a 3D Mario Maker would be WAY too complex for the average gamer to learn. And even if they found a way around that, it would take up a mother load of storage and/or processing power. --------------------- Also, people who say this is a bad idea don’t realize that ever since the Wii U died, there is no longer an alive version that lets you upload levels. Most of the people don't care about the higher prices because they don't have the WiiU Versions. AND they can sell Mario Maker Switch with a Stylus. Mario Maker would sell like crazy on the Switch because there is a real player base.

Boi a way Nintendo could fix the “joystick” drawing in docked mode, is to allow mouse compatibility. Also they could add a lot of stuff to the game. Slopes, new levels(ice cloud jungle beach lava etc.) and much more and id still buy it... also making it mouse compatible would be a cool reference to mario paint.

I really want to play Mario maker so I disagree with the video. Skipped the Wii U....wouldn't mind just a straight port of the wii u version...don't care about price.

Your first point is invalid. They could very simply ship the game with an included stylus, which aren't very expensive to make, so it wouldn't raise the price much, and make it so that you can only edit the level in handheld mode but you can play the levels in both handheld and docked. Why would you want to make levels while having it on the big screen? It’s much better to focus on what you make when it’s right in your hand. The switch is made to be portable, so in most cases you won’t even need to use the joycons to build. And using the joycons to build may be difficult, but that doesn’t matter, you’re building a game. It will be difficult but the end result is what matters. Along with the pricing, since this game was the most recommended for the switch and the biggest reason to get a Wii U, the game is obviously going to get a plethora of new elements added. Overpriced or not, it will still be a great game. And I do not at all think it will be overpriced, or else the game won’t be as popular as the developers intend it to be. The 3D levels will most likely not be added due to the incompatibility of all other level types, and even if they were; coding would not be involved in any way unless you’re the infamous psychrow. It would use the simple camera move and zoom and place previously given elements of the level. It will not have EVERYTHING that was made throughout the entire game. I just made some measurements and the switch actually has a slightly bigger screen than the Wii U, so the “fat finger” problem is just as great as on the switch, making the problem irrelevant. And to make it better, you can still use a stylis according to the rest of the comments. And the staircase can just be made by keeping the joystick in a diagonal way, making a staircase to be filled in.

Controls? A stylus comes included, get your own stylus, or use the Wii U stylus. And for using Joycons (which aren’t called joysticks), just hold a to place s block and use the joystick for speedy placement. Or, here’s an idea - just make the damn level using the handheld mode! Yes, Nintendo should rerelease Mario Maker on the Switch. Do you know how massive that community was? The only problem with that game is it was on a system that I was not gonna buy (3DS doesn't count)!

i totally get what your saying about the stylus and switch. The switch touchscreen is like a phone touchscreen. The Wii U and 3DS touchscreen is different from switch, because it allows you to use anything for a stylus while the switch touchscreen needs you to use your finger or a fat phone stylus.

I didn't get a Wii u cause i was told it wasn't worth it. Now i own a switch and i love it. I really want to play Mario maker. Easily shipped with a stylus. I'd be willing to pay full price 60€ for it. And have no problem making the level and testing in handheld and docking it once it's finished. all of your issues are so pretty and chuldish

The ports you mentioned were 3rd party developed, and therefore, arent really NINTENDO ported games. Nintendo knows how to do ports better than 3rd parties.

The controls won’t be the best but that is worth it. It’s a great game that should last longer and have more people play it. And the game doesn’t have to be that different. Most people didn’t play it anyway. And they could add tons of stuff. Mario marker 2????
