Let's play Super Mario Odyssey! I've wanted to play Super Mario Odyssey for years, and this was one of my most requested games. Luckily, I had the chance to finally play this Mario game :D So here's my first playthrough of Super Mario Odyssey! I haven't watched any Super Mario Odyssey content, so it's a blind playthrough where I don't know what Cappy is or what happens in the game, or what Bowser does, or when the game ends, so you might have some nostalgic memories seeing someone play through Super Mario Odyssey for the first time and exploring all of the kingdoms!
A little backstory: I just want to give a huge thank you to you for watching this video, it's because of you that I got to play this game and make this video. Super Mario Odyssey is a game that I've been wanting to play for years (just like Breath of the Wild and Minecraft, I hope I can try them soon too), and it's because my KZfaq channel has been doing so well recently that I got to finally give this game a try! When I was in school, I was hyper-focused on school and that's all I would pay attention to, and I missed out on a lot in life including a lot of video games that were absolute gems. It's such a nice feeling of huge relief to finally get to play a game like this, it's such a nice experience to have some time for yourself to do what you want, and I'm really looking forward to making some videos about testing/ modding this game, Super Mario Odyssey was a blast :D Thank you so much for watching, and thank you so much for all of the support!

Fun fact: If you go to the ruins in Sand Kingdom, capture the binoculars, and look at the sun, Cappy will say, "Don't look at the sun, you'll damage your eyes!" And I think it's really neat.

The pink goomba gives you a moon if you stack goombas to the same level as it. If you were wondering how to stack goombas, just capture one and use it to jump on others, and under your coins it tells you how many moons you have and need so in the wooded kingdom you could’ve just left without defeating the flower boss. You could also abandon many other kingdoms

I remember my first time playing odyssey. My uncle got me it for Christmas in 2019, and it was my first 3d Mario game (other then 3d world on the wii u) one of my first switch games as well I think. It was a amazing experience, I really did enjoy the game.

@@christophfunk2329 Actually it was not the hardest. When you have the good rhythm, this is quite easy, the begining is the hardest. I was thinking about darker side, that i could finish only by skipping the undergorund area with the pokio, the sub-areas in dark side that were just insanly difficult with long jump too precises, and also the final secret course in snow kingdom, because the timing you wanted to have to be first is so tight that if you do any error, it's over. But yeah, the jumprope was tough.

Oh... i`ve forgotten how amazing Mario Odyssey is... it`s real good to see the game again... It`s real great to feel those mario odyssey vibes again... vibes about speed techs such as Cappy Roll Jump and the roll cancel, and the jump tricks, some moon skips (or whatever their names are), oh and some of those capture puzzles and tricks or even a capture-less challenge and trickshot challenge!!

23:53 actually in Any% you do make this jump, but after fighting the boss of this kingdom, becase a power moon spawns after. It's not a skip, however, it's just the closest Power Moon

I mean, it kind of is, especially as those aren't the only changes; there's also: - Mario has 6 health instead of 3 (but the 13:45 heart still only adds 3 for a total of 9) - Sitting still for awhile recovers health - Mario can breathe forever underwater - Timer challenges such as 1:45:40 last much longer - "Bouncing back quickly after a fall" includes lava, instant death floors, and abysses, and also takes away one health; however, it doesn't happen in certain cases (usually where that would lead to semi-softlocks, such as the final Bowser section) - Mario grabs ledges when walking off of them no matter how much speed he has unless there's a floor within like 5m below it - Mario's movement is partially locked when above the Tostarena Ruins quicksand pillars and, before defeating Rango, in that one part of Lake Kingdom - Some other things I can't remember

Those “Purple Donuts” are supposed to be the first wheel and will be used as currency at the end of the game. And “The Mystery Rock” will give you more power moons at the end of the game.

There is a really scary part of this game included with the dinosaur. there is a forest for a dinosaur that chases you and you can just hear the footsteps and it creeps me out, but finally one day I was able to turn into the dinosaur and win.

Quick tip for Broodals: jump on their hat (or if Harriet use her bomb against her) to cause them to reopen quicker

Thank you so much! I was super-focused on school when I was in school and I played basically nothing 😂 I completely missed out on huge games like Mario Maker 1/2, Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, any Pokemon games after Diamond/ Pearl, Minecraft, Henry Stickman, Cuphead, Undertale, there's just so much that I have to catch up on and I'm so glad I have the chance to finally play them :D

33:33 I will not spoil anything, but you can get that later. There is a speedrun skip called CRC to get that. I am not going to explain it here, but it involves 2 player mode.

there’s an easier way go too 2 player mode stand on the rock next too chain chomp and mega broodal press y in the controller to move cappy once that roll too the log beginning of the level don’t let cappy follow you or you need too try again once get in that log make sure mario is standing in the edge of the blue flower make mario’s feet vertically once that look up in the island crouch with mario ZL/ZR shake the cappy controller and mailed it too the island in the sky and get the moon with cappy teleport too the checkpoint if cappy is near the island and didn’t get the checkpoint cappy will come back too mario’s head if cappy teleport too mario try it again if cappy teleport too mario right now and still shake it try again

@@ZXMany I had it the same. I played all 3D Marios in order when they came out. But only Sunshine I got stuck. But I’ve watched videos when I no longer had Sunshine. I beat it so quickly nowadays when I finally got it again on 3DAS. ^^ And it’s the first 3D Mario to use the spin jump as well!

As I watched, I realized you hadn't seen any of the game's trailers; the normal-looking humans were a huge meme in the community after the game's initial reveal trailer, but I think it's kind of cool that you appear to know next to nothing about the game - it took you halfway into Sand Kingdom to realize you could do a midair cap bounce, and other maneuvers took longer for you you learn, but those of us who watched the trailers were already aware of them ahead of time. It's kind of an interesting perspective As a note, cap throws will completely stall your fall. Also for reference, you're able to maneuver after grabbing a Moon, so you could cap throw to stall your fall and then dive to either bounce off him or move laterally. Oh, and you can do a ground pound jump or a backflip to gain similar height to a triple jump btw; you have long jumps as well for horizontal reach. Do note you can only cap bounce once while in the air, and you can't cap bounce after a wall jump You haven't noticed either, but to talk to the Sphinx, you just need to stand on the platform in front of it
