There are standard speedruns, then there are runs like this. This man absolutely decimated this game

SNES platformers have always been my favorite runs at GDQ over the years. This run has to be one of the best in just raw platforming skill. No glitches to skip levels, no way to complete 100% at the quickest possible speeds without just being absurdly talented at the game.

Was just thinking about running yoshis island for the first time and I see this video in my notifications, a really awesome run, was a little hard to understand sometimes but it wasn't really a problem.

Re-watching this now and this was truly a fantastic run! I think, on top of that, it highlights how great this particular GDQ event was. While we lost the in-person interactions, we gained so much quality! The fact that people who might not otherwise have the means to attend live (and thus participate in runs) means that the overall quality of the runs is much more solid. Not that they were ever "bad" frequently in the past - more that it's easier for top-tier runners to make an appearance Plus, again without the in-person restriction, there is SO MUCH GOOD COMMENTARY because the runners could basically get whoever they wanted on board as long as they were available at that time frame! This means that a wider variety of commentators and other runners could participate in the social aspects while the runner can focus more on the run - and the people doing these aspects of it are more likely to be familiar with the game themselves. Truly a great run, i feel for Calco2 being nervous their first time on the "GDQ stage" but we were truly blessed to have this run, and so many others like it

I really loved this game as a kid.

Weird comment, but.. I get panic attacks triggered by food, so I usually watch something interesting while eating. This incredible run really kept my attention and kept the panic at a minimum. The 4-4 boss was JAW DROPPING
