I always loved this game it's extremely underrated.

I forgot how many great little characterization moments there were from Bowser, Luigi, and Peach in this game. Peach just unblinkingly glowering at Mimi as she does her horrific transformation in World 8 and Bowser briefly getting all happy-eyed at seeing Peach in World 3 are some of my favorites. New unique partners are great and all, but seeing these existing characters go on an adventure together was a lot of fun.

For the final boss, I think it would’ve been cool if Mario tried to save Luigi by plucking out the sprout, only for it to re-root itself on Mario’s head. The idea of having a face-off with the main protagonist of one of the biggest and most successful game franchises of all time sounds super cool.

I don’t care what anyone says. This Paper Mario game will always be my favorite in the series. The RPG + Platformer element of the game made this special

I enjoy Bowser's dialogue in this game, he acknowledges the times that Mario has defeated him and honestly every time he speaks he has something funny to say. Whoever wrote that dialogue gets a gold star from me :)

I switched to Bowser, attacked King Croacus at the bottom with fire (The part with the leaves), and then the game crashed. If any of you still own this game, try it out for yourself. Here's an advanced joke I guarantee you never caught as a kid: at 10:53 Dimentio clears out the pixelated background for a smoother one, essentially taking you from 8-bit to 16-bit and says "now my attacks are 256 times more potent" and he chooses that number because the values you can store in 16 bits are 256 times larger than the values you can store in 8 bits. I mean, wow. Just wow.
