I feel like this song really captures the sadness, loneliness, vengeance, and feelings of betrayal that made up Luna's character while she was imprisoned, as well as her time as Nightmare Moon. Really tugs at those feels.

I've thought about it and I think I know who the singer is, it's clearly stated to not be Luna or Celestia (youtube recognizes both as proper nouns) and along with that we have very significant hints such as the singer being over 1,000 years old, able to fly, have some relationship with Luna, and also is an evil creature that eats dreams, turning them to nightmares trying to cause infinite night (though you could say that the last part of the song was someone else). So I think that the singer is Larry(or shadowfright but I prefer to use real names), now I don't know much about Larry I never read the comics but a random comment here mentioned him and I learned of him from there. Now one important thing to remember is that this song was released way before the comics were so I'm not saying it was intended to be Larry but I'm saying that I thought about who the singer could be then remembered that I had recently read about Larry and he sounded exactly like what I imagined the singer to be. Now I anticipate the main argument against this will be about how sympathetic the singer seems to be but I don't think that that's an argument against it because evil manipulative shadow creatures probably have emotions too(or are manipulative).

Odyssey Eurobeat First I saw the dream version, and thought, "Hey, if it's not Celestia or Luna, it could be Discord...", and now, after hearing the Nightmare version (while that ending could've been sung by a different singer) I was almost sure of it. So, am I correct in assuming Discord as the singer? Were you at least THINKING of Discord when you wrote the song?

@Doomhuntress The album is done. I may shift the tracks around number-wise, but once the alternate versions are released Volume 1 is complete. The death metal part was heavily experimental. It was just something I wanted to try, I can see it works very well with some and not well at all with others. I'm very glad I have two versions~!

I can't stop listening to this. It makes me shiver. It makes me cry. It's simply beautiful. I don't usually listen to this kind of music, but, this... damn. I think the guitar solo and the death metal ending contributed quite a bit. Don't listen to all the ladies whining about that part, btw. It's awesome. You should definitely make more songs with vocals! You're not the best singer in the world, but you're good. And a few simple pieces repeating is all that it takes to make a song awesome-er!

Imagine...listening to this song before going to bed... as you lay there sleeping, you see what you can only describe as the creation of a universe... right as you're looking at in awe of all that's happening, a great and terrible beast appears right before and the only thing you're capable of doing is panicking in fear... when you think on a song too much, stuff like this happens... or maybe it's just me, idk but it was great...until the dream became a nightmare.

I'm honestly impressed. I wanted to comment to compliment you on your artful and excellent use of the metal growl. It makes sense, and adds to the experience. I was expecting not to like it, not because it's metal (I listen to death metal quite a bit), but because I was sure it would clash with the song. This probably fits into the "well, duh" category, but between the Nightmare Mode graphic of this video and the Nightmare Moon closeups of the 1000+ Subscriber Reward video, I realized something: Nightmare Moon uses a completely inverted palette of Princess Celestia. Coat color, armor color, even eye color - take the RGB values and NOT them. Thanks for (inadvertently?) revealing this fact!
