Is it just me, or does Daiohja bear a rather striking resemblance to the Invincible Robos? Daitarn 3 especially looks like he's cut from the same cloth.

They're a part of the same series. Daiohja is the fourth (and final) of the four Sunrise Super Robots. It's grouped with the three Mutekis because it was the next project of most of the people who worked on Trider G7.

Ah, I see. So, in a way, Daiohja counts as a fourth Invincible Robo. They should put all four of them in the same game. Maybe there'll be a Final Muteki Special at last. :p
