Love when it’s a long video! You took extra great care of your animals during the storm poor Tyler lost 2 of his water monitors he’s devastated. He wants to build hide boxes like yours he gives you a lot of credit for the way you do ur cages/pounds you should be proud people want to do their animals like you do yours!

Each time I come back and watch this video again, I get an even deeper appreciation for the depth of care that Kenan gives to hie animals. There are people like this out there..... it is up to us to choose them over the "keepers" who simply use the animals to expand their reputation and their income. This is a place that respects and teaches... and that is why I stay.

My grandson introduced me to Kamp Kenan... and I am still here years later for exactly the reasons you sited...I respect the devotion to the needs of the animals and I truly love all the joy of a big kid. This is a very healthy place for humans as well as reptiles.

What an awesome video to get to see everybody at the camp all at once including Large Marge. I have to say Collins my favorite resident that we don’t get to see fairy often. He’s looking absolutely great. You should show him off more often. Just an idea. Always super impressed with the lengths you go to keep everybody comfortable warm and happy.

I keep a small group (7 ) of adult sulcatas and have kept turtles and tortoises of various species for 40+ years . The sulcatas , desert tortoises, and probably the gophers no practical experience with the gophers, always seem to return to their burrows at night as it is essential to their survival. Unlike aldabras or galopagos ,redfoots who just sleep where they sit . I never have to worry about the sulcatas and cold weather . Keep up the good work buddy .

Hey Matt's done some really stellar cam work on this one. He took some initiative when 23:00 Kenan brought Slinky back 24:00 to the cage. 24:15 Matt got in front of him 24:42 to film Slinky re-acclaimating. And folks.... he got some 24:56 brochure-level candid footage that looks like a dinosaur at the edge of Lake Kenan. Really first rate bombshell stuff if you like seeing Slinky in his own private habitat. It's really some of Matt's best work ever. You are my favorite person in the world. You have done what I had dreamed to do when I was younger. I wanted to be a herpetologist, love and have raised Malawi and Tanganikan cichlids in large quatntities. Plus you have multiple ponds right in your front yard. A dream of mine. Love your videos. Hi Kenan Loved the long video. Great job filming Matt. It's good to ask Kenan questions. Always something new to learn. You did an awesome prep for the cold for all of your reptiles. You are such a caring reptile dad. Lumpy had a nice ride back home. Marge is so cute. Slinky is so beautiful. He must have been heavy to carry. Loves his dad. He didn't mind being carried. I hope that the turtle's with the white spots get well soon. The turtles were so happy to be back in the pond. All of the monitors did well being carried back to their enclosures. So we get that it's a lot of work pulling all these animals out of cold storage. But how did they get rounded up in the first place? I'm picturing Kenan in snorkeling gear chasing after a hundred or so sliders...lifting hernia-inducing giant tortoises...getting raked by huge monitor claws. I hope these critters realize how much work this dude does to keep them safe and healthy!

Put lights high up in crocs cage Cuz grabbing them is just the worst for those croc monitors Maybe put two big lights up in the metal roof and a platform up there . THEN U DONT HAVE TO grab them . Two 250 watt bulbs would work good Just a suggestion

Even though my Hermann’s has an indoor enclosure when the temps dropped outside over here, he stayed in his hide (even though he has lights and heating) Absolutely loved this near hour long post bless you kenan having to round everyone up and put them indoors but you did the right thing to keep everyone safe. Did you hear that Tyler had some awful news due to the freezing weather in Florida? Sounds like his dragons did what slinky did 2 years ago, so sad 🤗🐢🦎🐊🐢🤗

I think more reptile keepers need to watch the video of when Slinky was almost lost. I’m afraid some just assume there’s nothing that can be done but you showed us to hang in there and work at it. For all intents and purposes you thought Slinky was dead but refusing to accept it you kept at it and basically brought him back. I worry more may be able to recover if the keepers just knew to try, even when it seems all is lost.

Need a portable hide of sorts for the monitors who really don't like to be handled and/or are fast movers. Similar to crate/carrier training. If they're used to the hide and comfortable enough to go in it, you could just get them to go in when you needed to transport either for vet visits or for this reason. It would relieve some of the stress on both you and the animal.

I love that you said with confidence that the sulcatas don't eat when cold snaps happen. As a new owner I reached out to social media about my 5 year old male not eating. His home is between 65-90f depending on where he lies and he won't eat but when the sun shines he is very active and still basks. The amount of hate I got was discouraging. I believe my tort is completely healthy. Just hunkered down after weeks of rain and 50f nights.

I love watching how you put so much care into your animals. When you went to your interior (interior) enclosure and said "the rest are in here" I couldn't help thinking of SpongeBob's JellyFish house party 🤓. They behaved very well apparently! 🤣💚💚

A little tip from a Canadian who has dealt with -*C and ponds before: For the little or smaller ponds you should invest in cover , such as black or dark green tarp or a roll of Vaperbarrier. This should be used strictly for this kind f situations. So when ever you get into the -*C degrees just lay a couple braches or boards over the pond and roll the tap/vaperbarrier over the pond and place an aerator in the pond to keep the water flowing. This will keep the water cozy. Even when the outside temps are is in -*C you pond should be a nice toasty temp as the suns rays really do a nice job at heating up the tarp thus keeping the water at a nice temp. just a suggestion. Love your dedication for your animals and always look forward to the next up date! Cheers

Tyler lost two Black Dragons because of the cold and not keeping Kenan’s exhaustive walk around schedule. The losses will teach him. Kenan over the years has had losses or bad experiences to train his behavior.

You need to get Pond heaters, it'll keep that water warmer and you'll be able to leave the turtles in the pond. less stress on them! my Koy love it they hang out by it all the time.

What I've learned watching you and your turtles and other aquatic and semi aquatic species is that I'm going to stick to my constrictors and other snakes because they are so much less problematic, I mean maybe I'm just lucky but I'm very thankful for the good health of my boys and girls. #BoaGang

Omg this video would be hours of work cut right back down. I would had 2c the bill for electricity if he doesn't have solar then feeding them costs housing. So much goes on with up keep enclosure costs r massive. My dad use to donate wood and metal from his construction company in Australia. To people who needed it for there animals. I own 43 Australian tarantulas they cost $35 a fortnight to feed. I love this guy..

Hey Kenan..I know you are in top shape but you might want to think about getting a back brace for when you move your heavy animals around. It only takes one very small pinch and you are in trouble. Bike riding will be history too. Those of us who deal with back issues wince when you pick up and move your animals. Glad you made it through the cold snap.

For the vision cage with the black throats, you may be able to use a greenhouse PVC cover over the whole thing for days like that. Probably need extra heating pads or elements above but it may be doable.

that croc monitor release was really good. she just wanted to get away. but in the heat of the moment you want the animal to think about running. so thats why its good to put them down upside down. because it causes them to think instead of reacting right away . if you put her high up she may have jumped straight to you and you would have likely gotten yourself bit. and you know thatcould be really bad
