I once saw a dude set up and perform the black hole glitch IRL. It was nuts. ESAM was at that tournament and he was legit surprised.

Some glitches were removed in Melee. the boomerang jump was removed from the versions PAL and 1.2.

TIP For master hand, the target moves that only target/follow players properly if the stage is Battlefield or Final Destination. I don't know why Battlefield works, but whatever.

Ok, so the name selection glitch works by performing two actions on the same frame. Pressing select and cancel on the same frame causes the game to advance without entering a name. Master hand is the first character on the list, and the game defaults to said first slot when no character is selected. Not nearly as complicated as you made it out to be. Edit: Forgot an important bit of information. When you perform said glitch, there is a very small window where the character select menu is in a ready state when it shouldn't be.

The name of the glitch at 2:25 is underrated

Actually, I think I might know why that hand size issue is happening. I used to do a lot of brawl mods, and I found that if character bones didn't have keyframes between different animations, the engine would basically tell the rotation/location/scale to perform a sin curve (a wave up then down). I suspect that there is no keyframe for the scale factor of Bowers wrist bone, and thus it scales massively for a frame or two when tweening from the airdodge animation to the landing animation.

I went back to this Video, Imagine How Scary It would be For kirby to still have his Broken Grab in The current Smash Game.

Funniest thing about playing as master hand is that Items work on him and there's a funny thing you can do with the finger lasers. (Do this in training mode for easier item spawn) If you give master hand a super mushroom he'll get bigger. Now pay attention to how long the power up lasts to get the timing down. If you use the lasers and the power up runs out in the middle of the laser animation, the lasers stay active FOREVER and they follow normal hand movements. You can keep doing this over and over again to stack the lasers and grab the opponent for instant death, or do the spinning move and make your own disco light show. I'd recommend pausing before the power up runs out though to make the lasers silent, otherwise the laser noises will continue to stack and, potentially, screw up your TVs' audio systems.

An easier way to do the name entry/master hand glitch is to have another controller hover over the "back to main menu" option and the other over the name entry selection and press "A" at the same time.

I found another dark glitch. Pick Kirby, and inhale a Game & Watch. Boom. Easy.

I really wanted to see that Bob-omb blow up during the Bowser glitch to really see if nothing can get you out as you claimed.

The black hole glitch can be done with as little as 3 characters. Fox OR Falco, Peach and Ice Climbers. So if people have only 3 controllers, they can remove a Ness and swap out a Falco or a Fox with an Ice climber. Though you'll need 2 super scopes instead of one.

If you get a mushroom (both versions) and use finger lasers, you get them all game. They have hit boxes and work when using other moves.

i think bowser's hand grows large cause when you air dodge he hides in it's shell then the hands don't appear but you are holding something so the game inserts the hand model which (maybe) it's model would originally be really large and it takes a few frames to resize it to normal

Btw, you can do the black hole glitch with just the ice climbers and peach 1. Get the ice climbers holding two super scopes 2. Get the two super scopes infinite 3. Fire a constant stream of small pellets from the scope 4. Have peach throw (10 or so) turnips into the stream. 5. If all steps said above were done correctly, those turnips should stay there even if the ice climbers aren't firing 6. Enjoy and do whatever you want

The black hole glitch is probably one of my favorite glitches.

I found a way for invisible shine... you just walk off the stage and shine, and if you do it at the right time shine doesn't come out but fox (or falco)is in the animation for shine. It works exactly the same though.

You forgot one detail about the Soul Breaker: if you use down throw on someone with a character stuck to you, it'll freeze them in place, as with the freeze glitch.

Your set-up for the Black Hole glitch is outdated; you can use a single pair of Ice Climbers with Infinite Super Scopes to accomplish the same thing.

I think the Name Entry glitch works because it allows you to skip the normal 'Start Game' pre-requisites of needing at least 2 players of different teams who have both selected a character. Pressing the A button at the right moment probably confuses Melee in to thinking you're allowed to progress to another screen when you normally would not be allowed to. Your theory might be correct though.

You forgot Samus' extended grapple. I only knew about the black hole, these would have been cool to know back when I played this

I think the reason that master hand comes up is that its the first character that was made. so that means the game looks for a character and the first one that pops up is , master hand!

Could have done phantasm (fox side b) into the dark hole glitch. You can continue it until it crashes, but it starts to look cool.

make fox jump into the black hole holding shine, then have ness throw PK fires in (assuming fox is not on ness's team). all you have to do now is pull out the turnips by z catching as peach

I tired the master hand glitch with my cousins and found out that if master hand is doing his laser move and gets hit with a mushroom, the lasers will stay and master hand will remain big (or maybe small with the Poison mushroom)
