I second the idea of painting your tools. We prefer orange duct tape on our gardening tools. I have come across dandelion diggers in the yard in the spring that I assumed were lost in the garage. Since the orange tape, we have fewer losses.

Just came across your videos. I think it is amazing that someone can find things from centuries ago just walking along a river. I am in the USA, right next to The Great Lakes, Lake Michigan specifically. While we have our own treasures, it would be more likely to find Native American arrowheads than antique pottery. It is great to watch and experience walking along a river without freezing and getting muddy. My home would be more cluttered than it is if I was walking there. Greetings from Wisconsin, USA.

What a lovely surprise, a video from my favorite mud larker on this Christmas Eve. And some very grand finds as well. My favorites are always the pipes, but that beer bottle is quite exceptional. I like the pipes because a friend of mine found an intact one and gave it to me years ago. It is quite ornate, and I actually smoke it. Keep up the search my dear, you'll find a million pounds in lost gold someday. Aren't you glad your forbearer's used the Thames as a waste bin? Were it not for their carelessness, you wouldn't find so many lovely things. Nicola, may this Christmas be everything you wish it to be and I'm wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.
