You say he'll be lucky to see the light of day again but that's not the case at all anymore in America. Unfortunately they'll plead down his case to maybe 2-3 charges and he'll get 15-20 years, get out on good behavior and do it all again. That's 99% of our problem in America right now is that we don't pre-emptively deal with the crazies as we should because it's considered insensitive or whatever the hell the word would be. Crime as a whole has consistently gone down in America almost every year BUT violent crime done by absolutely insane people that should have already been locked in a padded room has only gone up since we closed down all the asylums and gave these morons rights.

Not even close. I have been to all three cities recently, and SF and LA are a hundred times worse. The amount of homeless people in SF and LA is shocking.

I've lived in the bay area 50+ years. I grew up across from San Francisco. Downtown San Francisco is definitely a hole. Its gone downhill drastically. However, many other areas of San Francisco are as beautiful as ever. The commentary gives the usual uninformed opinion of CA. Reality check time. Many counties in California have very low violent crime rates and property crime rates. Its a huge state. My sister in-law in Montana was bragging about low crime in Montana. I looked up the FBI crime stats for her county Whitefish It was marginally better than Santa Clara County. They then moved to the next county where crime was 4x worse than Santa Clara County! Crime has gone up no doubt about it especially petty crime. California passed a proposition raising the amount for misdemeanor shoplifting.

I live and work in san jose in the silicone valley as a engineer in the semiconductor industry. San fran is like 30-40 minutes away from me. Never been and never will. Its hell over there.

Daz is correct about SF. It’s now a s##thole. The crime is out of control; the stores have huge theft problems, with many having to shut down; the homeless problem, hence human waste on the streets; the open drug use; public transportation is unsafe; a mayor and elected officials who don’t want to do anything…the list goes on and on. Oakland, across the bay, is worse. LA is bad, but a lot of it is downtown, so certain areas are somewhat not hit as bad.

The big difference between Florida and California is that "Florida Man" was born and raised in Florida. The vast majority of transients in California are from OTHER STATES (and countries), including ALL of the red states.

@@britneycee Assuming your statement is true, it still wouldn't change the facts that most of the "Florida Men" were born and raised in Florida, while the vast majority of the transients in California either traveled from or were shipped in by other states. Two statements with no direct correlation can be simultaneously true.
