Go figure. I did - very surprising and entirely unsatisfactory gearbox. Great job dismantling.

I'm currently putting a Ximango back in flying condition. Nice one you have, congrats.

Are there any manuals to show servicing of the MLG struts, pressure and air source.

How was it getting new gear boxes? Factory part or did you have new ones fabricated..

@@gregdewaele9323 they are heavy and built like a brick house! The one I have pictured has had several accidents, all related to main gear failures and tailwheel failures. The main gear is a pretty good design, and normally wouldn't be a problem. The tailwheel however is a known area that becomes distorted, the fiberglass cracks internally and the tailwheel assy falls right off. I rebuilt it and did a field approved mod almost 15 years ago and its been totally trouble free. The Rotax engine, if tuned well is absolutely bulletproof! Its a tremendous flyer, you won't be disappointed in the performance at all!

Do you use nitrogen or shop air to service the main struts? Thx
@FlaviorrodolfoАй бұрын
Nitrogen is best (no humidity and you can reach the specified pressure, which you can't on some air compressors)
