I am an OG player 55 years old - I remember warring with TH 11 and the advent of the siege machines and when I was with Red Elite back in the day. This has probably been the most fun I have had playing the game… I am not a pro by any means and I don’t 3 star every attack with my max th16… I play more now than I ever have.

Facts. I’m an OG myself from day one release, taken many years on and off, and I’ve never played more than I do now. I’m still a casual player, but I find myself playing atleast 20 minutes a day now, where before I’d play like 10-20 minutes every few days

Ha … as I’ve gotten older, and the game has become more visually complicated (ie so many things being overlayed), I seriously can’t see what the heck is going on sometimes. The easier mode has definitely made the game more fun for this man’s old eyes and aging mind. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

Pro mode imo is the only solution for those professionals out there. Add modifiers such as All troop levels are reduced by 1, Equipment levels are capped to Lvl. 18, or a Banning system

I was one of the players who quit over TH 15 - too hard, too long, too grinding. The game is far too easy now for those who PAID through their nose to max the Hero equipment. But it is THEIR fault. They PAID to WIN after all... For the 99.9% other players, many of us will pay from time to time a monthly Pass and I think this represents good stable revenue fees versus bumper payments from the whales. Balancing the game can be done relatively easily. It was enough for Supercell to simply incrementally release the equipment new levels. They did not because they knew they would generate money the way they INTENTIONALLY DID it. In a few months, the situation will have stabilized by raising up the defences hit points a few notch.

I don't think spam attacks should be meta. They should have a low chance of success. A balance between this and th 15 would be nice

They used to be called 2 star attacks for a reason, they should generally be used for safe 2 stars but have a small chance of tripling if the base design is flawed or the attacker is especially good at setting it up.

@@ospreytalon8318 Not really.Spam attacks have always been strong when the right player with skill uses it. Just like any other strategy spam has it's own difficulties and strengths. Nebrax used to crush th 15s with e drags, I bet even in easy th 16 most can't 3 star with e drags. That's the skill difference.

You can't cap levels as people want to max out. Thus no one would partake in that tournament. Troop bans could work but banning is always an easy answer that has problems later down the line

Another big problem affecting difficulty for the casual players are hero upgrades. In my experience, 3-starring a maxed base of an equivalent town hall (at least for th12 and lower) is pretty much trivial if all heroes are available, however most players will have at least 1 hero unavailable at all times, which then makes 3-star attacks actually require some planning, so I feel like the game is not balanced around full hero availability. I also think the hero problem also brings stagnation and makes the game boring, as you can't properly practice or use different strategies and have to resort to just doing the same spam attack all the time because you are simply missing the tools for more strategical gameplay.

Just max out every town hall - its just 10 (or 5 later down the line) levels per townhall, and there are books and hammers just for heroes. If a player plays smart, heroes should be no problem at all. The only players who should struggle with never having heroes are rushed players, but thats completely on them.

I think the pro scene / clash worlds should implement a pick and ban system. 2 protects and 2 bans per team maybe?? any spell any troop. A ton of games in esports do it CoD, Siege, Valorant, league of legends, and even brawl stars. This would definitely make the games harder for the pros while keeping the rest of the casual community happy! Eric if you see this and like the idea maybe try to push it to supercell or make it more public by talking about it in a video.

@@bizudamarasengan judging a “creative” attack is harder. What would you use for a base line? If someone uses mass goblins vs mass minions how can you determine which is more “creative”. But a pick and ban system is an easy system to implement. A team captain from both teams talk to the admin and they decide on each protect and ban. And winner is always by stats / percentage

Personally , I think 14 th had the best balance for regular players and pros. In th 14 we saw so many different strategies being used like super wichtes,dragon riders,yeti mass, hog hybrid and more. Feel like in th 16 we only see loons and different dragons attack also root riders. In th 15 I remember seeing mostly loon and different types of blimps not alot of variety follow up by super barbs(almostforgot super bowlers). Maybe my nostalgia but th 14 had more creative pros attack.

After the arrival of hero equipment,the game seeks for something new for the defence(not just extra number on defense but a new creative defence system change like hero equipment) too since hero equipments are totally op than our normal default equipment we had in our th14,th15, only that can balance the meta as per my knowledge

One thing about upgrade times is hero upgrades. It’s a tale as old as time, but the situation is completely different now. Hero potions were buffed, and equipment has shifted the focus from maxing out the upgrades to maxing out the abilities, and those two goals completely contradict each other. Actively playing the game for equipment basically forbids you from doing hero upgrades. I honestly think upgrade times should be cut in half and DE costs reduced by maybe 20-30 percent.

There's a saying in Multiplayer game communities that devs should never listen to pros, and the moment they start to listen to pros the game becomes significantly less fun for normal players, There are many games especially FPS games which are plagued by this where streamers are said to have ruined the game for normal players. At the end of the day you have to realize Pro players treat the game like a job and normal players are looking to enjoy and the devs should always keep that in mind

@@Rome.s_Greatest_Enemy Dude, Blizzard and QC Lalo took me approximately 8 months to barely get the hold of it, and 20 months in total to peak @ top 2k Legends back in TH15 (not even close to Lalo masters) as I worked 48 hours a week. I can't imagine people spending such hard work and time to do that stuff, *given if they even want to.* You're definitely asking the wrong question here: It's not "They could do it", but "They wanna do it".

Pets came in th 14 wdym. Also the base heroes where actually stronger in th 15 compared to th 16 but the abilities were weaker.

I can get behind them slowing down equipment. I went to th13 pretty much as th16 came out and all my equipment was Level 11. So I had that burden of needing lots of extra Glowy Ore compared to someone slightly higher and also having the 2 pieces of RC Equipment starting at Level 1. Double Whammy for me...

I was lucky enough to be maxed 15. I couldn't imagine how harsh it is for those that didn't get the basic gear to level 15 off the start. At least you can buy equipment materials now for clan capital currency. Don't give up. They will come out with more ways to get more ores soon too.

Ore economy was always decent, but most of the playerbase upgraded wrong equipments or aren't good enough to stay in legend league or war everyday.

I was in the same situation, but my equipment levels are fairly good now. 17 gauntlet, 14 rage vial, 15 healer puppet, 14 invis vial, 11 frozen arrow, 15 eternal tome, 15 life gem, 11 rage gem, 9 shield, 11 royal gem, and sitting on 400 glowy. That’s f2p as well, with titan star bonus and daily wars with a 75% win rate. My only real downside is not having the healing tome leveled, but i could have put some ore into it instead of another level 15.

@@Lucy_595 you are right though on that. I do star bonus daily in legends, my clan wars 3 times per week and now that we can use raid medals for more... upgrades have been coming along nicely. It's hard to find a clan that is very dedicated for most is the problem. There needs to be better recruitment ways added to help. I've been with the same peeps for 4 years though. Not all are that lucky

As much as I dislike the meta rn, it’s honestly good for them to experiment with difficulty like this. In my opinion, an increased difficulty option for war and legends, where defenses do a bit more damage, is probably the best solution going forward to please most players.

​@@bizudamarasengan But that's not the point. Not only will we effectively be playing on baby mode under that, the lazy spam attacks will still work just as well on all our bases. Every war by a half-decent clan will still be a perfect draw which is fun for nobody. If they wanted to increase defence in all wars, I'd be behind that. Honestly the solution is simple 1. Defence gets buffed 2. Casuals get over themselves and see how much more fun it is to actually work for their triples

Legend League defense stat multipliers and then Tournament specific stat multipliers. Not only would that allow both casual and pro enjoyment of the game, but it could even give way to more fun tournaments with custom metas.

So as a semi casual/ above average player I will give a bit of insight into how I think the game is right now. While being able to 3 star without an army is kinda crazy that is not a majority of players for example a max th 16 missed on my strategically rushed th15 base likewise sometimes I miss on th14 if I make mistakes or things don't go to planned so most players cannot 3 star all the time. Some pros have whaled and gotten max equipment across the board so that is already a small percentage of clash players. Now you have to keep in mind that not all defensive levels are out so the game will likely become more difficult over the next update especially with root riders losing 1200 hp cumulatively. The best options for the esports scene is modifiers of some sort set by the events so that way the game can be fun for casual players but not too easy for the esports players. Feels like a lot of players want supercell to make it harder but that will be damaging to SC as a company than good overall. While personally speaking I do not like Asmongold as he tends to speak way too confidently about things he knows nothing about with far to little knowledge in this particular instance he did have a fair point that if the game is to hard players quit th15 was a very good example of that. As a whole I feel like the game should be as fun to the mass majority of players as it is what will keep clash around for a very long time. Those are my thoughts on the state of the game most of the people here may disagree with me since I am not a clash content creator and am not in the clash esports scene heavily but as a player who has been in legends a few time and has played clash for almost 5-6 years total I feel like I can talk about the topic.

I think that the right move is to find an alternative difficulty between th15 and 16 like you said, but they need to create a new game mode for tournaments, with bans, new difficulties (modified stats for heros and/or troups), defenses's stats boosted, etc Edit : this tournament mode could be a new way to earn ore too, like you can do monthly tournament guild War with ore rewards. That would be great and it would fix most of the problems right now.

Maybe something like a normal attack but you have modifiers you can toggle on and off, and these modifiers changes the game in some ways. Harder ones (like 150% defense damage) result in more bonuses. There could be bonuses for completing certain objectives in a match such as using no edrag, using only ground troops, etc.

SC needs to add a new Spring Trap level; eject 20 housing space, make Root Riders and 4x hogs vulnerable to it- you can still hit with those troops, but you have to plan the attack not faceroll.

good idea but they will have to change it to not kill pets and also I feel like this is a bit too strong of a nerf to root riders if 9 can be killed if you get unlucky, so maybe just making spring traps cause a slow or a stun effect if it can’t kill the troop. it doesn’t make much sense anyway to fling a root through the air

So promote more RNG elements, got it.Traps should never single-handedly change the course of the attack, at that point it feels like you're being cheated by the game. Balancing a game like this is complex, and will require a huge effort from the team to keep as many players as happy as possible.

I agree with everything you said. The balancing should be more like TH12 / TH13, and equipment is good for the game … but please also give me some breathing space and time to catch up and have a break. Time where I do not play and do other things, but when I come back afterwards it is fun. Wearing me out is not a good option. And yep, it would be great if defenders could bring in their skills. If nothing else, at least they should add that to CWLs and tournaments? Maybe by giving the defenses instructions? Also, let me add, what CoC needs to work on is better recruitment 1) and making life for smaller clans much easier. I have to maintain additional accounts in our two clans just to fill up wars to multiples of 5, and to offer clan members practice challenges at their TH levels. But that also means lots of time-consuming farming on too many accounts. This should be way waay easier. (And I have long given up on our two entry-level clans which were supposed to cater to people up to TH11 / TH12. The workload is more than crushing.) 1) A sense of community crucially depends on people being able to communicate with members of other clans as well. And with people outside of clans. SC should offer *something* in that space … even if global chat is a no-go.

For us casual players, we do not usually 3 star every attack. I do not have an issue with the game right now. I reckon the pro players were the one complaining being it easy.

While people like us wouldn’t mind doing so cause we find it fun, a lot of people treat the game as some casual side gig that they play like once a day for 15 minutes during their work lunch break or something.

I think clash of clans is just a difficult game to balance as there is no player imput on defense. This kinda just turns clash into a puzzle game where the best players will know how to solve the most puzzles. There probably would need to be a change in how tournaments are run but at that point it will be changing what clash of clans is. Maybe having stronger traps could be a solution as then there is more opportunity for baits and unknown risk? But having too much unknown risk can also be discouraging to both Competitive and casual players

Just make the th16 level of the eagle fire 4 shots, the town hall when we can upgrade it, should spawn roots for 2-3 seconds, and spell towers fire freeze spells too like the freeze traps from the past. Hero equipment is OP but that's just the epic ones, as common equipment is mostly balanced i think. A maxed King from the past would rage and spawn barbs, and wouldn't take out 1/3rd of the base a maxed giant gauntlet king 😢

There are numerous times I've heard players say that the game is dying because of the game being too easy, that expanding the pro scene should be the priority when it comes to approaching new younger players, since we've got League of Legends, DOTA, etc. already finding success on this path, that casual players should cry or learn more about the game. While I certainly agree that path works, unfortunately *this is not the time to,* even if you try to implement ways to get casual players to play the game better. Many of them just wanna play the game casually, and some (quite like 20%) do actually want to be better, but the skill floor for a meta attack such as QC Hybrid (which is technically much easier than any LavaLoon, mass Hogs variants) is way too far above where the casual players are, *they are discouraged when there are so many things to learn to be able to perform at the most basic levels.* They even struggle with using spells, hero abilities, and funneling troops properly in spam attacks! I actually learnt that fact when I got to teach someone else about QC Hybrid at one time, I just asked myself how did I learn those things at first and got to top 2k Legends myself. Had these mechanics been there since the very beginning of this game to get player better on average. But now, you cannot just change who they are all of a sudden, you cannot just take away the "casual" from the casual players. TLDR: So yeah, I really, really vouch for a "Pro mode" where building are significantly buffed in places like CWL Champ+ and Tournament, else just leave the original game quite easy as it was in TH14. This, imo, is the best solution so far that (for majority) satisfies both sides of the player base.

Most will be like if I can't get 3 without learning all those multi tasking things then I'll just get 2,but then they soon realize getting 2 stars isn't enough and keep losing every war, with addition of ores which will makes them fall behind other players then the vicious cycle of lose war - less ores - equipment can't catch up - lose more wars continues and ended up ppl quitting the game I guess

@@leonfudo522 It's not even the resources issue at this point. Many casual players pay and get maxed faster than F2P players making their first complaint comments on Reddit. TH15 didn't have ore or any resource problem you know, yet the game suffered even worse. I mean... yeah they can give you more ores to catch things up to play the easy game as pros do. But it's just a very temporary thing, when we have to look at the big picture here.

@@kjordhenriquez3799 In truth, the game is mostly a battle between a casual player and an another casual player most of the time in CWL Champ 3 and below, the defense is not that useless when the opponent is also not so skilled. From my experience, plenty of casual players still struggle to 3-star TH16 all the time (probably like 15% of all attacks). The defense would look useless under the hands of an advanced player, but to them it's not that much honestly.

Totally agree, legend league and champion league (CWL) should have different difficulty than the rest because clearly the population of that group are driven by challenges.

I'M on the fence with adding a difficulty slider. Isn't it a temporary solution?. Because we always gonna have new town halls so always need to be balanced if we added to legend league. Although some attack has become easier some town halls have diff difficulties. Imagine lets 30% dmg for defense in th15 would affect it differently than in a th 16. We don't know much about how th 17 is gonna be. A side note i dont they planned the balancing. If they did thr outcome would have been alot different.if they did on purpose why buff some defense and nerf troops then?

Defenses aren't fully updated for Th16. Some of them are for th15 level. Until the townhall levels are released and updated, it's still somehow normal.

personally all those events with new equipment. sometimes i cant play enough to get one of the equipment, and then i am inherently at a disatvantage compared to others at my townhall level. and unlike any other form of being behind i need to wait an arbitrary amount of time to spend 1.5K gems out of all things. Very annoying and i dont play anymore because of that

Even in mid THs i get shocked when i casually take out about half the base with my heroes, not even maxed level or equipment. Oh and warden doesn't go by itself it goes with the army, so it's the other 3 that initially take out half the base by itself sometimes.

maybe they could add an optional mode in legends league where players can sign up to an "elite league" where your offense is a certain amount weaker than it normally is, these players would get maybe cosmetic rewards or just prestigious trophies that show how competetive they are and how good they are. This way normal legends league players can still enjoy their "high level gameplay" with normal challenge, and the pros can opt in to a difficult arena

You are right eric, the best thing Supercell can introduce is the custom Wars for tournaments. If we could customize the difficulty level of the bases, then everyone's problem will be solved. Casual players like me can enjoy the game and competitive matches can also go side by side.

As a pro, as long as 1 in 5 pro attacks fail to 3star well be happy. Well, we also need time to do attacks in multiple parts. Spam isnt the game well keep playing. As a Free2Play player, the reduced upgrade time is great. But we still need more time between updates. We NEED time to enjoy being fully maxed for a little while BEFORE every update. We wont play to progress if we cant keep up and stay max. Whats the point? This will also keep the advantage someone can buy totally reasonable. Everything is close to great, do what you need to, im just listing what we NEED to have to keep playing.

I agree with you Eric... I believe the state of the game will affect content creators as well... The excitement to watch and learn from the pros on what to improve or learn new attacks. It used to be exciting to triple knowing it ain'ta walk in the park... Right now there's no need to practice or think, just spam correctly, that's it. Used to watch esports a lot... we can't sit for hours watching root riders in a time race... Im not a pro, I'm average to fair but i hate how easy TH16 is... my hit rate is too high for my skill. No room to learn and grow.

I've always proposed a legend league or CWL difficulty multiplyer system. The DPS and HP of defenses goes up to as high as 105% the normal level as you gradually go up in legend league. Same with Masters and Champion league in CWL. Master 3 is 1% harder than normal while champs 1 is 6% harder.

I think the main issue for me is that Epic Equipment is so strong, the frozen arrow and fireball especially. The main method to get these are by paying money. Therefore the balance is skewed because if you play all the time or spend money you have access to powerful equipment that is otherwise locked behind paywalls. I find that this makes the game too easy for those that are able to get and level up the epic equipment, and some could even argue pay to win.

Th16, or the highest th lvl, should always be the hardest. If they want an easier time in the game, then stay at lower town halls. If they end up doing a pro mode that will be it for me.

But that's the issue that it's only easier if you take your th16 to lower levels. Th15 vs TH15 is still absolutely insanely hard. Unless you use the new gears and rider troop and root spell in which case it's nowhere near guaranteed to 3 star but you have a chance. I don't get what's with this obsession over people getting defenses. The game is supposed to be fun for both the attacker and the defender! And I can tell you right now TH13 vs 13 and 14 vs 14 and 15 vs 15 is not fun at all unless you use the ALL new stuff. Attacking a good base without the new gear and units and spells is so cringe I would rather go back to quitting.

I enjoy the game much more at th16 because I feel powerful, with TH15, I felt like even if I attacked perfectly, I would still timefail or not triple now I only have that when I mess up my attack, aka skill issue the main thing giving me trouble rn are spread out bases with center town halls because you need your warden to have your army survive 3 total poison bombs (towers and th)

Since its a base layout anyway maybe they can just add a multiplier beside the matching system for example Normal mode where the building will deal damage as normal Hard mode where the building will deal about 1.1x the damage and Hardcore mode which deal about 1.25x the damage and i think the difficulty at the hardcore with 1.25x damage with the standard now it should be as hard as th 15 and i dont see why the dev cant do it, for the reward the harder mode gets more trophy, while loots etc stay the same so those who are good at the game gets rewarded too for their skill and those who play casual can still progress through the game getting the same amout of loot just different trophy, with that the game can competitive for those who want to be since they will of course be forced to play hardcore mode if they want to get the most result of trophy out of every attack. Ofcourse it has its own flaw like you lost your resource to those who attack you base with normal mode but because youre forced to play hardcore mode so you cant really grind it back etc so it will still need to be balanced and find a middle ground, tho for me its one of the best way to make the game harder but also easy at the same time.

I believe there is something that only the game developers/managers knows about this. Im not that competetive in clash of clans(big fact is that im not maxed) But i used to play on a semi professional level in fortnite. I eventually quit because there was no communication from the community managers and there would constantly be stupid updates. Regardless of that we went a LONG time before we were able to get through 1 request. For example we wanted there to be a separate loot pool from comp and pubs"normal", however every new season they would remove one of the previous things we had gotten through and an endless cycle. From what i can see in clash of clans there is a similar dilemma, competetive players want one thing.. developers believe something else is better for the game. However there is a HUGE difference, that is the fact that coc is talking to the community(and content creators), trying to meet the needs of everyone, and explaining their plans. From a comp standpoint i dont know of any other popular game that is this blessed in terms of communication. But back to my point, i think theres a reason why the developers from huge games are so hesitant to separate the playing pool. I just dont know why that is. No big game that has constant change has ever really done it, may also be something with the fact that the casuals will not be able to relate to the comp scene if its too much different? Not sure tbh

100% agree. I'd say th14 difficulty for normal game and th15 for pro mode, legends and high cwl (maybe optional for wars, it would be great). Th16 is way too easy even for good level casuals and this isn't healthy. If SC tweaks the difficulty to rise it a bit, we'll find a good spot. I hope pro mode will be implemented asap. I'm a bit worried about their intentions of keeping th16 too easy, though. Does it mean that we won't find a good equilibrium until th17???

I remember at the beginning (10;years or so) how disgusted I was when I found out a player had bought gems to advance more quickly. These days you have to buy the monthly pass, plus any specialty pass, to keep playing. Supercell makes a mint every month!

I think the pros could do with a Pro mode. Content creators and Pros can still make guides and content for both Classic and Pro mode. If not then address the gear, and what I mean by that is NOT NERFING it but instead add new buildings at TH16 and above, that combat certain hero equipments like the towers you get at th15 where you can swap between invis, poison, rage and swap them to different modes that can for example Deal 50% more damage to King if King is wearing Gauntlet but take 50% more damage or Slow if the Queen is wearing the Frozen Arrow. You know what I mean? Or a building mode that shields a fair portion of the base if the Warden uses Fireball but in return reduce very close surrounding building's damage by 10% if Warden is NOT wearing Fireball and is within range of it. The Pros all want a challenge right? This will give them plenty of things to deal with and plenty to plan and think about when attacking. Balance overall. For me the game is great now, I came back after quitting previously with all 11 ids. And would you look at that I am spending money again on all ids for passes, events gems and skins. Easy is very fun and I approve.

Fully agree with you Eric. Supercell needs to balance things, so like the chart you showed in the beginning, the hitrate for casual players goes down to around ~45% in Champ 1. That way defense and offense are balanced like at th13 and 14. Plus Supercell needs to add a pro mode for eSports, where either defense is buffed or offense is nerfed, and the hit rate for pro players is around ~30-40%. This way both pro players are satisfied and casual players are also happy.

outside of events im playing the game a lot less the events force me to grind a lot for hours a day during the event so i can get the equipment on all of my accounts and i get burnt out after 10 days of doing that so i just dont play the other 20 days of the month i want the game to be challenging because i have no reason to play and get better if i can just hold troops in one spot but it is less of an impact on my enjoyment of the game

Difficulty came with every higher level you advanced to, so most players just stay at lower TH levels where they don't have to divide their focus during an attack which you will have to do at higher TH levels, so they making it easier now, it will be good and bad though, bad for comp players but good for casuals

Long time competitive player here: They should make th16 easier than 15 for sure. As you increase in town hall, the game gets more complex inherently with all of the content. Now, if they want to "balance" the game more here's what I propose. Make spam less powerful. It's not a strategy game when you can just brainlessly place down a troop and watch it take down a whole base. It's okay if the strategy required to triple is not as much as it used to be. The fact is: the reward of learning strategy is what we fell in love with and what we believe the game should be at minimum. I mean it's a strategy game not a competitive shooter or a casual farming game. Another huge thing they got to focus on while balancing is making sure that strong things don't fail in comparison to overpowered things. I've seen it way too much, they buff a troop because it's not being used, but in turn people just keep using the broken troop because there's no reason not to. They have been better about buffing and nerfing though since the lava hounds so I feel like they're realizing this now. (Big examples here: the fireball is too OP. But the key thing to understand is that the other ones aren't weak. You can use the other ones, but the big question is why would you. I mean you can just fireball a huge section of the base and there's nothing higher town halls can do because they can't space their bases out any more cuz the map size) Ok thanks for coming to my ted talk please fix town hall 9-12

Simple solution to keep the game balanced - Do not increase hero level caps with new town hall release. Once all defenses and walls are 100% upgraded, then increase hero level caps.

I believe game is pretty much balance now for the average players I mean these top teams like navi and tribe players used to triple on th 15 as well. And these players play this game for a living just for a example a normal player cannot do a skelly donut or super archer bomb so he or she has to rely on army to triple or at least get a higher percentage

it’s frustrating for me as a defender when my base that used to hold well against dragon spam suddenly starts cracking. I think it’s a fair ask that players should have to implement real strategy into the strategy game, and holding people who mindlessly spam edrags across one side of the base to one or two stars is fair.

I see my Champs3 clan way more active than it was a year ago, some players who quit in frustration at TH15 came back. We know it’s easy with all the new troops/eauipment/pets etc but as casual players with real lives, many don’t have time to watch endless YT clips and perfect a strategy. The pros are a tiny fraction of the player base, the onus is on SC to introduce a modifier to keep that very small group happy while the rest of us have fun with the game.

Do you think/know if they've came out to say they have released everything they've planned for TH16? or perhaps it's currently too easy because they haven't release whatever else they have planned for countering heroes abilities in defenses yet? Now im just a casual player who recently returned after nearly a decade of not playing but I do like that I can pick up the new meta quite easily as a new TH11 player. it's not spam and 3* perse, but if you plan out your attack and funneling, you can pretty much 3* any th11.

I think adding bans to esports and competitive matches could help keep things interesting despite the easier meta. One team can ban balloons and eternal tome, another team might ban root riders and giant gauntlet.

Th15 was the peak of Esports in Clash of Clans like every team in the World championship pulled all and every little tricks up their sleeves to get a 3 star but somehow we still saw a lot of 2 stars 85% or even a 1 star Thats how difficult that Town hall was For casuals yeah it was too much for them but for the Pro scene/Esports it was so amazing to watch and to see every pro player do everything it takes to get a 3 star in a war But sadly in Th16 esports scene its just root riders and valkyries and just win with time instead of Percentage or Star Count in every match which is kinda boring to watch like even Klaus himself said that the current is so boring even at the competitive scene

They make it easy for casual players retention rate. If they made it super hard the people who play for like 10 min to an hour a day would leave because its not rewarding enough.

I knew it that this is gonna happened after hero equipment released. Casuals are forced to play wars and daily star bonus to get ores and grind everyday, making them burned out and eventually quit the game. They shouldn't have released the hero equipment. If you're playing a grindy game, then you know how fast you can get burned out. At least before hero equipment was released, you can just farm daily bonus after resting for 2 days and still get the same bonus as when you're active for 2 days straight. They can fix this by like you said release a pro mode but instead of mode, make a new league, pro league. Players can play in legend league path and push trophies while getting loot and they can still go on the path on pro league that has more difficulty such as increase hp and damage for defenses and has less hp and damage for troops but they cant get loot there, only throphies. They can opt out from pro league anytime they want

The recent balance changes have 100% balanced things out “for casuals” Last month we had 6 members get perfect CWL’s (this NEVER happens.. they NEVER even get 19 or 20 stars.. but 6 of them got 21…) we are in masters 2 (as most casual clans are) After the changes, this month I’m the only person in my clan with 21 stars. The next closest is 17, then a ton of 15-16s No.. they’re not good players, they’re casuals.. like myself. Yes, i know that if I can triple this consistently with under lvled equipment and heros/pets, then ppl that play a lot must be having a very easy time, but that’s such a small % of players that play enough to be able to claim this games “wayyyyy to easy” Sure, it’s easy, but it’s more fun for casuals when it’s not incredibly hard like TH15 was. Solution: Just make a pro mode for legends league and optional for wars/tournaments. (I’ve been saying this since th16 came out.. I know.. but it’s the right move)

Why don’t the Esports community just add Bans before wars? Kind of like every other competitive community out there, each clan bans 2-3 troops/abilities/spells, therefore all the super OP stuff casuals use, the pro players won’t be able to use.

How about a difficulty slider where the max is double damage from all defences, but you get twice as many stars for destroying the base!
