I got a base 3rd gen and love the 4th gen AWD…even more than some of the newest Acura products out there now. I can see adding one to my stable when I get rid of this 3rd gen.

Got a 2010 acura tl sh awd 6 speed manual with a spec stage 3+ clutch and normal flywheel no dual mass flywheel. It works absolutely fine. Took some tinkering on adjusting the clutch pedal under the dash to get engagement smoother also took some getting feel for as to not over power the awd parts but long as the clutch isn't dumped the only noticeable part is starting from a stop or feathering the clutch when say parallel parking it just isn't forgiving like a dual mass flywheel. The clutch does make somewhat of a heavy-duty clutch sound a little growl or clatter but it's normal. Drive a dodge Cummins 5500 work truck with a stage 2 or 3 clutch and it really is noisy at idle the clutch and it sounds just like the acuras stage 3 except the acura is way not as loud or aggressive sounding but its the nature of the stage of clutch I'd assume. For a long time I thought my throw out bearing was no good. Because on the spec setup I used a oem throw out as recommended over specs and had to glue with special green stuff locktite brand a spacer onto the throw out bearing to make it work without dual mass flywheel. It really is good if don't mind loosing the ability to be lazy on the clutch.

I’m sitting on a j32 thinking about super charging it as well. I’ve seen some people make turbo kits for them but idk, supercharged just seems like the way to go with these.

Burning oil was an issue but I had the dealership replace my piston rings under warranty back when warranty was available. I’ve seen peoples cam lobes get pitted and cause noise. Other than that if you maintain it it’ll treat you good. 6mt are the best for the platform.

Absolutely but with the gerzybear supercharger kit the AC is deleted and you’d have to relocate the ac compressor

What kind of short shifter is in this 4G TL? Looks like a hybrid racing one , I notice they only make it for the 04-08 TL , be dope if Acuity made one for the 4G TL

It’s the Hybrid racing shifter made for 3rd gen TL but fits right into the 4th gen TL

Did they change out the shifter cables? I tried fitting one from 3G TL into my 2014 sh awd 6MT , it won’t sit flush and the cables are pushing it more back , the holes will not line up because of this .

I've been looking into getting one of these for a while now, but I've heard the 3.7 had oil burning issues due to the piston rings. do you have any insight? does it happen to all 3.7? and can the problem be permanently fixed after having the ring and piston work done? @@GarrettMedia

@@Smokeybear_j.b the 3.7 does have an oil consumption issue but some has been fixed. My 2010 TL was burning oil. I had the Acura dealership replace the piston and rings under warranty so far so good it’s been close to 3 years since it’s been done and it burns a little bit of oil but nothing bad. I do my oil changes every 3500 miles.
