Supercharged Burn Barrel Latest model. Vertical with narration.
Here is the latest version of the Supercharged Burn Barrel. It has been raining here every day for months. Finally had a couple of dry days to do some yard work and have debris to burn. And of course today it started to pour while I was filling the barrel. I shot a horizontal video of green wet debris. Because it was wet and green it took over 9 minutes to burn.. No one is going to hang around for a 9 minute burn video. So I did not post it... My second attempt was with mostly dried items that had gotten very wet in the down pour.. it also took a long time to burn because it was so wet. This post is a vertical video with narration.. There is a horizontal version being uploaded of the burn.. When I have a few dry days in a row I will do another..

I worked at a crating company and we had one made out of 2 shipping containers stacked. The chimney (?) Part was oil barrels welded on top. Had to be reinforced with steel beams because the heat warped it but it definitely didn't explode. We used diesel fuel to get it started and it had 2 big commercial blowers, one on both sides.

Turn off the blower when flames are still coming out of the top, use tongs to take the top off, and throw a bunch more material in. This way, it will already be hot, and the second burn won’t make as much smoke.

good idea. it is better if the insulate the sides.. to make the heat stay in. isn't that just the same as normal furnace ? just too bad it won't make good grade activated charcoal with all those oxygen..

I mean... its principally a jet engine. If you can create an upright standing mesh that will go through the center to keep material out of the way of direct airflow of the source. You will receive a much more steady burn instead if 5 min of catching on fire and then burning.
