Yup! Daily driving with Mickey Thompson ET Street tires! 13mpg and a whole lot of fun with 785hp on tap from this Whipple Supercharger on the 2020 Mustang GT 5.0 running 91oct gas with a booster.
Russel went with this supercharger kit because it is smog legal in California. For the same amount of money you could have a Shelby GT500 with very similar power and a 10 speed DCT. IF you just want more throttle sensitive in whatever 2011+ Mustang you have try out a pedal commander amzn.to/3hc61rd

About 5 months ago, I purchased a 2017 GT Premium with a new Whipple 3.0 stage 2, renegade axles, Aluminum DS, McLeod RXT1200 Clutch, hood struts, pillar gauges, Line Lock mod, all brand new parts installed about $20k in mods, and the car had only 3k miles, yes, 3,000 miles. It was stored in a heated garage on wheel savers, and is like brand new. The interior still smells brand new, I only paid $38k. Was an incredible deal. I was at the right place at the right time. The car pulls insanely strong with the whipple, it's so much fun.

He went to someone over charging him! The supercharger cost 8-10k for the 3.8L Whipple kit, the car cost 30-35k do the math, that alone is right around only 40-45k add fuel rails, fuel systems you might get around 50k

@@jsavage9134 If you watched the video he said he bought the car for 50k and did all the install on the car himself. Kit was probably 10k, wheels and tires a couple grand, tune a grand, fuel system a grand, suspension a couple grand, it adds up quick.

Whipple stage 2 is 10 grand with taxes . He didn’t mention he did opg that’s some other 1500 in parts in labor to keep the motor safe which I doubt he did . Ruffly it’s about 12k to do it right without a fuel system . Which I think he still needs that’s why he’s on a octane booster . Another 2k+ to run it e85 which we do have stations around with it it’s about 15k with e85 setup .

When you start power adds. You have a dollar amount you think it will cost. Scratch that. It will go way above what you initially thought. I have a GT Mustang PP1 with a KB liquid cooled blower. I am running 651 wheel horses power. Eibach suspension, but went with a road design. 305, 30's on 20 inch rims. Brembo came with the PP1. A Mcloed 1250 twin disc clutch. I am told a Lund tune could take the wheel horsepower to 800. But at 651 its a fast car. Would require a boost-a-pump, larger injectors, and Lund tune. My cost was very close to what he mentioned for the add-ons after the car

People don’t understand that $80k is something we spend as time goes on. It took me almost 3 years to the day to build my 18 and total in is about the same about $85-90k. But that took 3 years and that’s not even counting the times I did things over again and spent more money. My suspension is magneride and I have a little more pit into the car in regards to anti wheel hop. But yes it’s easily daily drivable especially if you have active exhaust and put in quiet mode. And I have Corsa Xtremes and American Racing headers but In quiet mode it feels like a Honda as long as you just cruise. Lol.

Back in September I was just browsing online for mustangs but wasn’t serious on buying. I found a 2018 Gt pp1 with a Roush 2650, Kook long tubes, full bolt on for 40k from a dealership in NY. Two days later I signed the papers and took it home. This is my first vehicle with a real hp number. At first it scared me every time I drove it but I’m starting to feel more comfortable with it. The rear kicks out in 1-3 so I’m trying to find a new set of tires. It still has original pilot sports from 6-7 years ago and the are starting to dry rot. I don’t have a lot of coin to get different offset rim for wider rubber. I don’t know if I should stick with the pilot sports or just grab a set of Nitto drag radials. I live in NJ so it can get cold and we get a lot of rain.

Same thing with mine. Everytine j put it in sport, the car would kick out and I'd lose traction. I put new tires on it and it solved that issue

Also man I live in colorado and I put all seasons on it. Considering where I live, I should have went with snow tires. But I'll be alright. When I got the mustang it had a random assortment of tires on it and all were dry rotten. They were all sorts of fucked up. You really don't think about that thing when picking up a new car but in glad you did brother. That car will be your best friend if you make it that way. These 5.0's are super reliable if you put the work in them

Seriously considering getting a supercharger now (finally!). My 2019 GT PP1 is three years old (bought it summer 2018) and only has 6k miles on it since it's not a daily. Just a bit worried about possibly throwing away the remaining 2 years of powertrain warranty.

@@JCTiggs1 I agree with you. If you really want to still have the warranty get a roush supercharger and have Ford install it themselves and it doesn’t void the warranty

I bought mine with p1x procharger fully loaded pp 21k miles with all supporting mods etc... for 40k and with fees taxes etc it came out to be $44k.. I have the full mod list and just in parts and the car itself total cost came out to be $69,700 and that's without any labor I think I might have actually saved like $40,000 atleast lol

The more I watched your video the more respect I had. Very nice and informative. I just ordered a ‘21 Mach 1 which should arrive in August and for the longest time was eyeing the VMP Odin but have since swapped camps so to speak to Whipple. My car will be a Tremec 3160 6spd. Can you comment a bit more on the must have suspension upgrades requires? Additionally did you do billet OPGs and if not why? Thanks again

@@ckryegrass11 I will be installing it myself but called my local tuner and he basically said they almost solely work with Whipples and they always turn out well. The owner/tuner also owns a Coyote and sang Whipples praises. I dont want to knock either kit but it would appear the Whipple is a tad bit more capable and the install should in theory go smoother.

Hey my friend great video and I know I'm a little late to the party. You touched on about every question that I would have had but one. I have a 2022 Mach 1 with the 10r80 automatic tranny and I'm about to do a similar set up with about the same horsepower but my question is with us having the automatic trannys would I need to also invest in an upgraded torque converter or would the stock converter be sufficient to handle that type of power. stock 10r80 are rated up until 600 - 650 lbs. That's what it can handle stock. If you stay on that or below it youre good

I wonder why he hasn't tuned for E85. It's available in most areas in CA and would probably allow much higher boost and power, as it has an octane rating that exceeds 100.

Hardly any stations have it. Long trips are difficult or out of the question. If left sitting in the tank, it messes up the lines. It kills your gas mileage. Short of a race car, it's ridiculous to do.

@@mycobrahatesyou Yes, but he could have separate tunes for E85 and 91 Octane gasoline. For trips, just retune back to 91. Where I live in CA there are enough stations within under 10 miles, one less than 4. It depends where he lives. I live in San Diego. But Los Angeles has a lot more E85 stations. Some states have hardly any. I actually use E85 in my daily driver. I just swapped the injectors. When I go on long trips, I swap the injectors back and use regular gasoline. In California, gas is very expensive and E85 is a lot cheaper...even after using 25% more with E85, it's still cheaper than gasoline.

80k!! Lebanon ford does the roush supercharged gt performance pack for around 57K they do base models with charger for 48k.. idk

i think he inflated the number a lot or is adding all the costs of taxes or what you would pay not doing it yourself. but he has axles and a carbon drive shaft so that can be pushing $4,000 right there. suspension, wheels and tires, tunes are a lot of money too.

@@jasonwoody8041 For sure! It's MUCH cheaper to modify a Mustang GT with a supercharger, suspension, wheels/tires vs buying a GT500. Otherwise most would be buying a GT500 instead of supercharging GT's :) Get a 301A instead of a 401A pkg and put the money saved towards the upgrades. As for warranty, as long as it's installed by an ASE tech you can get 3 year warranty. If someone really wants the Roush it has to be installed by Ford tech.

@@JCTiggs1 you can keep the warranty if the dealer does the roush. The whipple will void the warranty no matter what. That being said i still went whipple on my car. I bought a used 18gt loaded with everything but recaros and a auto trans. 401A, pp1, mag ride, active exhaust, safe and smart, premium audio ect with 11,000 miles on it. got a screaming deal on a stage 2 whipple new in box i put on myself and im at $40,000 total. Now i have done other stuff to the car. I pretty much tossed the steeda catalog under the car, wheels/tires and have kooks long tubes and 1,500hp g force axles to put in yet but thats half of my joy of cars. Upgrading them myself to my tastes.

Esp with stock fuel pump. I have a booster and a dw400 with fic1000s and still only managed 715 on 93 with boostane. Def don't want to push the motor on pump like that. E would be way safer

You guys have no idea.... I’m building the same car but I have more for 25k as of now...13k in motor parts...3500 in exhaust...4K in suspension and axels..3500 in clutch and drive shaft...and 1250 in a remote tune and my tuner for the use of his dyno!!!!

@@shouldigetit well first you would need a different guest. Not to offend the dude but he doesn't have the best video presence and his answers were short and he sounded like he didn't know much about cars. You don't upgrade drive shafts and rear axles for a daily driver in Cali - you do that for the track. And when we talk about price we want to know only the cost of the relevant mods - like one guy said 30k!?! And 80k!??! It costs around 10k to supercharge any mustang gt regardless of the price you paid at your dealership or if you bought it used and it has 50k miles on it. And for a carb legal kit you wouldn't have headers and you aren't supposed to even have another company or shop tune it...so this vehicle technically isn't carb legal if anyone were to check the map/tune. And to top it off....people have been doing this for years....the whipple on a mustang gt 2015+ and 2018+ with an A10....so it just wasn't really worth my time.

Yeah I'm gonna have to call B.S. on 780 whp on 91 with octane booster. Lund says 650 whp max on 93 octane. And he's on the stock pulley. I bought the stage 2 kit and im in California so I think he embellished the numbers quite a bit.

So a different tune + 91 and octane booster could be higher than 750. Also there’s a difference depending on which dyno you’re on and ambient temperature during your run.

Totally impossible. You will blow engine to pieces. 650wheel max on 91. You better go e85 or you will blow engine for sure.
