What is even more annoying is that Katie and Melissa were happy to go for it. Just look at how they looked at each other all through season 6.

@DebraWalsham Exactly. I know Melissa made a few interview mistakes early on, but by season 4, she was feeding the Fandom just like Katie was. Last year during that writers strike, to earn money she made a lot of fan paid Cameo videos and answered a ton of Supercorp questions. She confirmed that her and Katie played their relationship as romantic by season 6.

Yeah I watched the one when someone asked her about the date in the comic. All the looks that were so not for a friend were unbelievable. You don’t bite your lip and stare at your friends chest or butt. I know I certainly don’t.

@DebraWalsham so if you believe some obscure articles from Canada (where the show was filmed) there was a plan in place for season 5 that got axed after they filmed episode 5x10 (the one where Lena shook Lex's hand. I won't go into great detail unless you want me to, but basically the plan was for Lena and Kara to have been working together since crisis without anyone knowing. A former writer from the show went into detail about the original plot for the second half of that season. Unfortunately the CW had told all the shows to change their plots because they were going to do a ton of crossovers now that all the shows were in the same universe, it never happened. But the show had already filmed Lena working with Lex so they ended up sidelining Lena's character basically. But the other thing that was happening was the show was setting up Supercorp. By this time it was a huge portion of the viewership and both Katie and Melissa were in support of this move because they wanted to pay the fans back for their loyalty. Unfortunately behind the scenes the Warner was already in talks to sell to discovery and discovery didn't want to turn Kara into a LGBTQ character while they still had major movie plans for her in the future. So instead Katie and Melissa gave us the next best thing, they hinted. Melissa was the one who advocated for Mon El to announce he could never return while Katie suggested William have a girlfriend. Both actresses got to help write their final scene together and I don't think it's a mistake that their final scene felt like a coming out moment even if they used words that could be interpreted several ways.

I totally think it was them coming out to each other. Always saw it as Lena knowing long before Kara did how she felt. Then just waiting patiently for Kara to slowly realize they were a lot more than friends. Season 1 got me. Winn out right saying you’re a lesbian. Then her comment to Alex about Lucy. And they expect us to think she is straight. Yeah right.
