Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom - FULL Updated Experience / Fun Character Buffet!

In this video I bring you to dine at Tusker House restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park for my first time, and we also see lots of animals and characters around the park! Tusker House is a character dining buffet where you can meet Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy in their safari outfits celebrating their latest expedition! The African inspired buffet is all-you-care-to-eat and the theming is detailed and covers the entire, large restaurant space! I will bring you along for the FULL EXPERIENCE - the food, the characters, the atmosphere, theming and more - and we will also stroll around Disney's Animal Kingdom and see lots of character boat cavalcades and animals before and after dining, and I add in some extra tips about rides and food at the end of the video too! We walk around the Tree of Life and find some lovely shady paths to hang out and see more animals! It's a lovely, HOT, crowded, spring day at Animal Kingdom, and we have a good time inside in the AC with fun characters! Thanks for joining me!

I did this for my 35th Birthday 6 years ago. I really enjoyed it. I was wearing a T-shirt saying it’s my birthday, hug me and I got loads of attention from everyone, not just the characters.

We were there for breakfast in 2015, and lunch with preferred seating for rivers of light in 2019. We absolutely love it, but as I get older, the thought of all that food, walking around what feels like the surface of the sun, I don’t think we can manage buffets or family style now. This and 1900 park fayre are great memories.

Jambo! Animal Kingdom is definitely overlooked. It's a fantastic park for families and animal lovers. I was there for passholder soft opening and fell in love. Thanks for sharing!

I had breakfast here before the shutdown and it was the best meal I ever had on property. We had an early dinner here while it was family style and I was very disappointed. Now that it's back to a buffet, I'm excited to try again for a late afternoon or an evening meal.

Love Tusker House, the character’s outfits are awesome and the different type of foods is great. I loved the green curry shrimp. It was family style when the GF and I went, hopefully the buffet won’t negatively effect quality.

When my grandson was about 6 or 7, Animal Kingdom was our 1st park on the day after arriving. My grandson was in a terrible mood that morning, but when Mickey came around to our table, he gave my grandson a big, tight hug. My grandson's mood changed immediately. All he needed was a big squeezable hug from Mickey!!! I finally understand that they need a full day of relaxation after travel day, so now I give them that. We swim and relax on our 1st day after arriving.

I think the most wonderful thing that came out covid precautions at Disney was the character flotillas on the waterway at Animal Kingdom! It’s so great to to chill out and watch characters go by even without a character meal or long line. We like to do it while eating a snack so we are multitasking. 😉Love your videos! For those who want a similar experience but don't care for character interactions (or just want to eat and pay less) try Boma at Animal Kingdom lodge. It's African inspired cuisine just like Tusker house but also offers kid friendly/picky eater options as well.

I’ll try Boma soon, I’ve also tried Sanaa. I’ve got lots of other videos of different dining experiences, and lots outside Disney too, so you can find a wide variety of different types of dining and experiences I’ve done videos of too. Lots of people love character dining so I wanted to try this for lunch/dinner, not breakfast. Bc breakfast is basically the same everywhere.

@@SuperEnthused Omg I can't believe you haven't tried Boma, it's so so good! I slightly do prefer them for breakfast over dinner though especially since they offer hand cut ham with a special mustard sauce, and some awesome babotie - which is scrambled eggs with chopped meat, curry and other spices. However the dinner service offers the zebra domes for dessert which are a staple at AKL. Just do both 🤣 P.S love your podcast!

The back of the Tree of Life is such an underrated spot! My last family vacation, we took about 30 minutes chilling back there away from the crowds and having fun spotting all the different animals within the tree. It’s a good way to wind down for sure

Hi Jackie. I always love watching the reactions with Mickey and Friends. It feels Magical with Social Distancing gone with all the Characters. I could spend all day just watching the wildlife. Instead of quinoa, you could have parsley or that annoying piece of ground pepper on your teeth. Stay Cool and keep having Fun on your Adventures.

Donald _is_ number one, and he knows it! 😂 Animal Kingdom is our favorite of the four WDW parks and we never visit Orlando without stopping in, but Tusker House is one of the few dining experiences in the park that has always eluded us! The theming and character costumes look incredible. For awhile after COVID I think they were doing family style meals and have only recently switched back to the full buffet experience, so we're looking forward to trying the character meal on for size sometime soon! The food looks incredible, especially that dessert plate! Quinoa is definitely a mixed blessing, too, when it comes to living your best culinary life while still wanting to take character photos. 😛 And of course, the best part is that you get to spend the rest of the day at one of the prettiest and best-themed parks in Disney! Love it when the otters come out to play. 😍 Great vlog, Jackie!

Food looks good! I don’t like how much ( as an adult the characters bother you while you eat ! Great for kids though) although I’d love to try the food I think the characters are a HARD pass for me!
