@meganguy2237 Yes, you are correct. I missed that. Still, from that, the only reasonable conclusion is that either Supergirl was acquainted with Kara (because of all the articles she wrote about supergirl, it is quite possible) or Olsen had mentioned Kara's name (maybe even multiple times considering he is close friend of supergirl). No one would jump to the conclusion that Supergirl is Kara, especially when they both were present in the same room. Unless she knows about Jhon and his shape-shifting abilities, which she obviously doesn't know.

Superhero disguises like glasses tend to work because it's all about context. People think of each other in a specific context, like associating them with a place or activity, especially if they don't know them personally super well. It's like when you see your teacher outside of school wearing normal clothes and it takes you a second to process that it's them because they are not in their proper setting for you or wearing the wardrobe you always see them in. Kara's normal mannerisms and style to Cat are meek, bubbly, competent, awkward, carrying herself submissively with hands behind her back and fast talking to keep up with her, her hair is pulled back in some way, wearing glasses, and wearing semi formal clothes carrying coffee, not confident, strong, poised, and flying with hair flowing down, and hands on her hips, and wearing a red, blue, and yellow, super suit with a giant S and a cape. Clark is the same way with the people around him having one image of him in their minds as coworkers seeing him as a clumsy dork with glasses, not the man of steel. The public then sees the hero and wouldn't recognize the normal looking person next to them as someone with superpowers.

So like, you can still ask the question of why they look identical 😅 she acts like there’s nothing weird going on here anymore because they’re in the same room but they still look the same. Even if she’s not supergirl, it’s still not unlikely that there’s a connection, and the other stuff that pointed to that possibility still exists. I think it would be really funny if they tried this trick in a superhero show and the person was like “this is just as weird. Why are you twins?”

I love the shot with them posing next to each other because it kinda shows how different they are or appear to be. I mean, i know it's John pretending to be Kara, but she tends to stand like that as Supergirl, but Kara stands with her hands behind her back. More exposed and fragile, while Supergirl has a more protected and strong posture.

This is from season 1 on CBS, so it's not set on the same earth as Arrow and Flash. There are no metahumans and apart from two publicly known Kryptonians all other aliens are a highly classified government secret.
