プロって何がすごいってどんなに馬鹿げた速さで走ってても簡単そうに走るからすげぇよ 俺らにもできるんじゃねぇかって錯覚するくらいに簡単そうに余裕そうに走ってる(実際はその領域に行くまでがものすごい難しいんだろうけど)

Yep! congrats to them!! I've always supported the ARTA team since Tsuchiya-san was driving the car, they did a great job this year! they really deserve it! :)

2002年に比べてシケインの通過速度が速いしステアリングも90度しか曲げてないけどこれは車両の性能が上がったのかコースレイアウトが変わったのか

Is it normal for GT500 race car drivers to shift down that fast? It sounds painful to the engine but I don't know anything so could someone explain?

In case you haven't got the answer within 8 years: Racing engines are kept in check by air restrictors or in other series by a rev limit. In both scenarios they can theoretically rev much higher than their rev limiter, epecially on downshifts as there is no pressure in the cylinders from burning fuel. Shifting down early gives you more engine brake, which is useful on a qualifying run. Of course, you risk locking up the rear tires though. However, these GT500 machines had monstrous amounts of downforce so you could do it on a one lap qualifying. And it is more the gearbox that takes the penalty rather than the engine. But after qualifying you could change everything anyway back at those times.
