No problem at all, I hope that you managed to get the 100%. It's a great achievement to hit and it's certainly not easy to do. It's also nice to have both weapons, they are both great for both actual use or collector's.

Hey Coloredturtles, it's more than a decade old now and yet has a following of which I am part of. I've been playing the game pretty religiously ever since it's been out and only recently decided to make my entire KZfaq around Fallout. Thank you for checking out my video and for commenting. It's a cool little trick that you can use to get everything.

That's a very interesting thought, it would have been nice if there was an outcome where they work together. Who knows, maybe you also see them later as a random encounter where they are trying to protect the wasteland.

(Sorry about misgendering) The issue is they caused more damage as they saw the world thru their own eyes; or batman syndrome. The mechanist was a victim of not realizing the world isn't like the comics. The realism of robotics made her unable to see the possibility of a bad subroutine and lack of plot armor. Her intention was noble, but she was human thinking robots felt the same; bad enough they were disposable; not equals. The antagonist was never evil, they saw hope in ants being the ideal idea of humanity; but was blinded and disregarded their humility. She should have used the idea of ants as a example to improve the world. The shroud was simply a mask who didn't take the character seriously; yet was still noble and correct. Honestly amazing writing, should have a bigger focus on a new fallout game or a mod idea Also I'd love if the shroud had a gaggle of man children trying to larp their wasteland roles. Like the tunnel snake Or the nukaeye sniper Or the mutant avenger ....radroachman! Stuff like that.

@Loliconman It was certainly one of the more interesting quests in the game. Its not very often you come across two NPC in a battle using literally robots and insects. But I feel it was a missed opportunity too. Similar to how Moira's Survival Guudes made it all the way to NV, I would like to see this theme carry over. We did see The Mechanist make an appearance in FO4 which I loved. And yes, I did read into the struggle for both too. It wasn't just two random NPC dressing up or anything, there was an undertone to it all. It's by far one of my personal best moments in the game.

I was able to pick pocket the mechanist after he left his forge and get the costume without having to kill the mechanist.

Hey Zoie, thanks so much for your comment and feedback on my video. This video was one of my more interesting videos at the time. There really is no glitch here as such but it was just exploiting the pickpocket mechanic to force them to change their gear. It's a cool mechanic and helps alot lol.

I'm at sneak 55 but it took like 4 reloads to sneak the armor onto mech boy. I wonder if stealth boy helps with that

I am sure I'm probably not reading this right but your saying stealing is the wrong way to go about this but your instead suggesting to sneak attack and take things from their corpse. Either way its a way of getting both armor sets and weapons so which ever works. It's not a thing but since you don't see them after then perhaps it does not matter as much. Personally I would have loved to see both NPC become companions after the quest.

Just the two times but that's golden. I actually purchased my first copy of a Fallout game by accident. Toke it home to realise its not what I wanted. Thought I might as well play it and ended playing about 18 hours in that one weekend. This was when Fallout 3 came out and I have been 'Trapped' ever since.

Nope, not at all. Once you get their armor you don't really need to as you can use the reverse pickpocket again if you wish. I did to basically speed up the process a little as I like to make my videos as short and quick as possible.......when possible.

Hey Liam, thanks buddy for your comment. I would recommend around 50 skill points and maybe some perks to help too. Failing that you can also use Stealth Boys. I hope that this helps.

It took a couple of saves and a stealthboy but it worked of the first part.

Ah, if you killed any of the NPCs then you can still use the Reverse Pickpocket mechanics but to only get one set of Armor. Quit possible you won't be able to get their weapons though as you need to armor of both to get both weapons.

@@tomatojzzz69 Ah that's not great. Fortunately it's not the most powerful armor or weapon so you haven't lost out big time but if your a collector of these uniques then it's a bit of a bummer.

Sorry to hear that. They are all worth getting for sure. Perhaps not the strongest kit but definitely unique.

Without swapping his armor I don't think you can pick pocket his armor. But yes it is possible if you have better armor to offer.
