This August I spent some time in Japan testing engines with my mechanic Hiro Ogino at his local spot in Nagoya. My long time friend Takaaki Murao drove over with a superjet and 550 to spend an afternoon riding freestyle and catching up. Taka and I have been competing in freeride for years while we had contests around the world. He is also incredibly talented on a superjet doing flat water freestyle so I felt a friendly game of JET on a very limited superjet would be perfect. We took the game as seriously as gas station sushi and had a great time exploiting all of my old school freestyle weaknesses. It was a lot of fun, i was grateful to have his friend Alex there to translate so we could catch up and communicate stronger than we ever have years prior.
The game is based on the basketball or skate version of PIG, and I think this is going to be a fun challenge with other riders moving forward. I hope to see you challenge your friends to a game of JET and see what it challenges you to do outside your comfort zone.
