The 2nd film shot by lester is awful. This is def donner. U can always tell b/c hackman refused to return for the reshoots & they couldn't force him as he was done. He fulfilled his contractually obligated 2 films.

I'm still hoping one day that it gets released on blu ray, just like Superman the movie, fingers crossed!

This one of lex Otis miss tessmacher is donner. Hackman refused to return fir part 2 reshoots b/c they fired donner & I guess the salkans were offended. They were so strange. I think it was the father & the cousin mostly & it was all over $$ how do u cut brando out??? I always thought he tried to sue them b/c the issue w/ his contract as the big name which actually got the picture going & gave it huge star power & legitimacy. Like this isn't gonna be camp like the old comic book movies or TV shows DC gad done. Anyway everyone was paid for 2 films. Brando however not only got paid I think 3 million for only 10 days work but also 11% of the gross of superman. Which is crazy $$ since it made like 250 million so he got over 25 mil. So for the sequel if they used his footage they'd have to again pay him 11% so it had to be them b/c the footage was all done obviously . They had to know part 2 was gonna do very well so pay the man. U obviously wanted him in both movies thus the contract. U can always tell donner from lester scenes since obviously 75 of part 2 was shot & done a few yrs later ( superman started shooting in early 76 since lester only had to reshoot 50% of one film that was written he made his changes of course & they had no ending as donner intended turning the world back for part 2 but the salkans pressured him to wrap shooting so he even had to change his ending. I wish these people could have just given him a start & end date I mean geez he shot 2 movies at once !! Plus he had so much pressure to make superman really look like he could fly. It's so groundbreaking. " reeve deserves so much credit for his athletic prowess things he did like banking superman's very first flight when he only had to go straight to camera. I would love to have seen him stay on & finish his vision. So the movie started early 76 they did reshoots in 79. So lois looks very different in continuity most jarring towards the end from scene to scene in the same sequence daily planet the end of zod & the next morning in donners cuts she so different. Her hair is the biggest giveaway. In part 1 it's darker perfectly straight while lesters she's got much shorter hair which is curled. They just stled her so much better Margot looked so beautifully lit & her hair makeup wardrobe is flawless. Plus Margot was a bit thinner. Her face is fuller she really looks so different In this . Tis scenes are only w/ lex & since Gene refused to return no need for Otis. Jimmy also looks older since he was really young when they started filming

If you wondering the The reason for this it’s because I’m trying to make the ultimate cut or superman to so if you can search for any of the international cut scenes in widescreen then that would really help me out I’ve been looking all over the Internet for those scenes exactly

There is a scene just after this where a man is messing about with the film in his camera for ages x
