Snyder truly understood how the modern day Superman would be like but so many people that want Superman with powers completely misunderstood his vision and how he was making his version of his characters. They're like he doesn't know this guy or that guy. He knows them just perfect for the current day and the new 52 era. The new 52 is supposed to be more violent.

True, Gunn can try to get rid of it, but it's not going anywhere. Even Zack said that that before he permanently left because of Gunn's constant interference of his continuation of Justice League sequel movies.
