I can understand why people wouldn’t like this version of Mr. Mxyzptlk, but let’s be honest I don’t think anyone could do the classic Mr. Mxyzptlk justice like the late Gilbert Gottfried, after all every animated version of the character was voiced by him for a reason. The creators of the show most likely felt the same way, so they reworked the character in a way that still fit the role, but wouldn’t result in the character falling flat because of the voice acting.

I can definitely see why people aren't a fan of this Mxy when compared to previous versions. He seems much weaker and less chaotic. Or at least less chaotic in the goofy sense. The fact he can be grappled and put in cuffs at the end just shows how heavily nerfed he is. None of the previous Mxy would or could be beaten like that.

I see the dragonslayer from berserk, i see the melee weapon from bioshock infinite, i see the wabbajack from skyrim, i think i see mjolnir thors hammer. Im sure they are all references but i cant name the rest.

I'm not sure about Mixy's portrayal here. I never took him as Chaos agod incarnate, hut more of a multi dimensional being beyond our comprehension with genie like power who simply doesn't understand or care about our rules or laws. Be it laws of man or physics. He's a godlike 4 year old.

The design and voice for this character is amazing. I love it. Reminds me of Bill Cypher.

I’m glad they did this design with Mxyzptlk having the hat on, and turning into this. Given the circumstances, if there was a reality-bending entity on the loose, it wouldn’t look like a weird little man or some cosmic space goblin. It would be one of the most unfathomable creatures you’ve laid your eyes on. But this is still pretty tame in comparison.

So this Mxy has a derby hat that looks suspiciously like the classic Mxy until he puts it on. With the opening of the multiverse, it would be great if it was revealed this Mxy is the same one from Timm-Verse, the comics, and everything in between. Just one single Mxy playing different games in different universes.

This version of mxyzpktlk may be weaker than the og comics vers but the role and take on this version takes things more seriously

I sometimes wonder what most people can do with Mxyzptlk‘s powers. If it was me, I definitely would use Mxyzptlk‘a powers for fun but in the less malicious sense. I never understood why most villains, when they are on “nuclear steroids,” have a tendency to use their powers for mindless violence.

You know, I think that mr mixyesplit or whatever was playing with this superman, since being so young he had to lower his level so that he wouldn't be boring. That's why he tried to limit himself by using his hat as a temporary weakness but the lois took it as a chance to jail him

Let's see what you think of this theory about Mxyzptlk: In my opinion, there is only one. He is the fifth dimension and the fifth dimension is him. They are one, and what happens is that by being the same, he creates different personalities and origins (if he is aware of this, it can be debatable). Also, being a multidimensional "entity", time and space as we perceive it does not apply to it. Also, I'm inclined to think that his "god of chaos" phase of the TV series is possibly after his "death" (because it's been made clear in various comics that he can't die) in Superman: What Happened To The Man of Tomorrow? And it is possible that there he has lost part of his power. Sure, this is just a theory, but yes, the most dangerous version of old Mxy is the one in that comic and I wouldn't be surprised if the creators of My Adventures with Superman were inspired by it.

Reminder that in the Comics Myx once accidentally gave The Joker 99% of his full power resulting in Joker causeing legit chaos across Earth One and forceing Batman in a unending cycle of being killed. If this shows how powerful Myx is wearing the hat I hate to see what hapoens if someone manged to trick Myx to giveing them 99% of his power while he has the hat on. (Myx is pretty much always the same character in every single DC universe so his power levels are pretty much constant no matter what)

Kinda sad how they took him down with a basic strat and fighting in the end, besides we all know Lois is clever, Myx is supposed to show how superman isn't just brawn but is actually smart as well. So although it's entertaining this wasn't handled in the best way it could have been

Lets see, Dragon slayer from berserk in the center, Noisy Cricket from men in black Top left below the fan blades, bottom right above the spear I think is a refences Kill la Kill, Bottom left at the top of the bottom box look like a reference to Sailor Satern from sailor moon. Right side above Dragon slayer look like one of katana's fans from MK, Next to the bow and above dragon slayer looks like a reference to Mjölnir and the axe could be JARNBJORN or Stormbreaker, the pink staff below Sailor Satern's staff look like its a reference to card captures, and ooo that staff with a face that the bottom look like a reference to Wabbajack from elder scrolls. Thats what I see lol.

Ok the problem with this character is that they tried to sell us a Mr. Mxyzptlk that is not Mr. Mxyzptlk, this is a valid antagonist, BUT IT'S NOT FUCKING MR. MXYZPTLK (Jimmy it's the exception cause he's a compleatly new character compared to the original and it's fine)

Given how Myxyzptlk pops up at the end of the episode to talk with Lois, it's pretty likely that this fight and his capture were all just him doing a bit. Maybe he let the League of Lois Lanes take his hat because he wanted to see how much fun he could have getting it back, like a game of keep-away.

What’s that huge hunk of metal doing in the show

I know I'm not the first to come up with this, but I think he was limiting himself on purpose for his own entertainment. Mxy could have just snapped Clark out of existence, but where's the fun in that? Mxy likes messing with his targets. I HC that his rules are self-imposed because things without a challenge are boring. Tbh this scene kinda made me fear Mxy, if this is only a fraction of his power (heavily implied by the end of the episode) and he chooses to manipulate people just for his own entertainment, that's frightening. A higher dimensional being that can warp reality to any extent but chooses to mess with his prey (in a metaphorical sense) for fun scares me on a level similar to lovecraftian things, and it's difficult to scare me as a horror fan. Maybe I'm reaching here, but you can't just tell me that if something like that showed up in your living room you would treat it like an ordinary tuesday.

They took one of my favorite characters and made him an edgelord... poor gibert godfrey.

This is easily my favorite version, no just cos of the design, but because he's not an unlimited reality warper. I fucking hate those characters.
