For any of you guys thinking John isn’t homophobic, this is what is in John Winchester’s journal: January 24: Dean turns seventeen today. We went shooting. Then I sent him out on his first hunt. I’ve let him take the lead before, but I’ve always been there to back him up. This time he’s on his own. Partly it’s a test, and partly I wanted some time with Sammy. Should be no problem for Dean. Ghosts of two nuns haunting St. Stephen’s Indian Mission in Riverton, Wyoming. Simple salt-and-burn mission. Nuns in love with each other, then discovered. Killed themselves. We scoped the situation out, figured that something must be left behind that’s now a focus for the haunting. Bible, rosary beads, some small article that’s hidden somewhere in their room. I figured Dean would take care of it no problem, but I still stayed close by with Sammy… [Sam wants a normal life] … Dean took care of the nuns just like I thought he would, but I don’t think I’m going to be sending him on any more solos soon. That one was a little tense. Yeah their ghost nums but doesn’t that sound a little homophobic? And keep in mind this was deans first solo hunt (And sorry for double commenting this video is just rlly good ❤️‼️‼️)

It took me a solid 2 minutes to figure out what 'pillow biter' could've meant, without searching it up. I immediately knew when I thought 'dean's a dude, ohhhh.... That makes a lot of sense...' And then to confirm, I searched it up, low and behold, I was correct.

i only know john to be a mental abusive absente father, i've seen every episode an not once have i seen him even put his hands on sam or dean, a commentor on Pinterest told me their were signs of him being physical. i don't believe he is "homophobic" because it isn't cannon(i try to go on cannon only).

some parts of reaction are based on headcannons and some scenes aren’t necessarily canon. john wasn’t explicitly homophobic in the show, but i kind of assume that around the time he could also be homophobic- but of course none of that is canon just a headcannon. 🫶

In this time period, John would most likely be unsupportive of the LGBTQ community considering his unsupportive personality and upbringing. Most adults in the period were uneducated and homophobic, so I assumed John would also be.
