Boom island is the place you start off in the game when you are on console and you downloaded the first bit and have to wait. Nothing scary happens

When I downloaded Just Cause 3 on my PlayStation, after downloading 5 Gbs it let me play the game, while it simultaneously installed the remaining 20. While the game was installing the remaining 20, I was spawned onto this island with all the mods active and stuff, and it's main purpose, from what I've understood was to kill time and learn the mechanics of the game. Same thing happens when you play StarWars battlefront while it's installing..

In 2016 i litteraly used boom island for my m488 (nuke launcher) and explosive barrel experiments. There is nothing scary in this island! The most scary thing there is accidentally blowing yourself up while you are playing with red barrels.

The island in the top left (volcanic) is meant to replicate Pompeii as the ash from the volcano is down the mountain there are burnt and broken buildings - to find this head to co-ordinates N:40 50.910 E 5 27.210 also the island is covered with abandoned Greek style buildings which relates to the to the Pompeii Volcanic Eruption

The boats are blinded by the fog and don’t see the island. That’s why they crash

That’s not entirely true, The AI on those kind of civilian boats don’t actually recognize that there is an island there meaning they can’t detect or see it, This only applies to civilian boats. Military boats only spawn when Rico is at least 10km within their range. Meaning they detect when Rico is on land thus letting them know their is land infront of them. But civilian boats and vehicles don’t constantly look for Rico in a place to spawn so they have no clue where he is

Also, if you play on Xbox, when the game is ready to start before finishing, you can mess around on Boom Island but you can't go anywhere else.

The boats crashing is a glitch or maybe the ai isn't smart because I see cars, helicopters, tanks and boat just crash into walls. And the lights are probably just so you can see. And the fog is probably just because you are near the edge of the map

Whenever you download the game on xbox and then you play when its ready to start, tada you are there.

U know there is no lighthouse and that’s probably why they crash into it because they can see through the fog and I really hoped u knew about that

Surely the boats drive into the island because it's foggy and no there's light house, probably just a cool feature and no Easter egg behind it

They probs added that island and just did not change the pathing of the vehicles and the fog probs is messed up due to them probs adding the island for people to try it before fully downloaded
