I'm in the Ducati camp. One thing that is not shown is the PITA the RS660 is to adjust the rear suspension. The other dislike is that the RS660 may be too light for my taste. The Ducati feels small, but has a nice sense of stability. Guess it's good there are options.

I personally prefer the looks of the Ducati with the suspension option of the S, but the Aprillia is a great looking bike too. From the side, the Ducati looks better, but the Aprilia's front is hot. Also the Ducati has more Power and is the more aggressive. PS: It would also be interesting to compare both bikes to the MV Agusta 675, though it wouldn't stand a chance.
Thank you for doing this piece. I think it is good to bring these 2 together, as I think a lot of reviewers/creators missed this. That said, I would personally take the 950 S over the new Aprilia. I think Aprilia gave this bike too much electrickery and not enough actual hardware. And let's face it, you know there will be a "Factory" version coming soon which will, for a substantial price bump, address those deficiencies. And I would still take the 950 S. Of course, I say this without having sat on or ridden either! Once that happens the story could change. We will see if our ridiculous, dictatorial "leaders" will let that happen. Stay tuned! Thanks again for this piece. I enjoyed it.

Nice comparo. Not sure how you don't see the family resemblance with the Aprilia RS like you do with the Ducati SS. Clearly both designs are "related" to the bigger versions. The 660rs is not that original. Also it would have been nice if you had done the math re power to weight ratios since you gave both the engine power number and dry/wet weights. Also also, fuel tank capacity and travel range would have ben nice too since these are not track/race replica bikes but meant for "real world" duty. The RS660 is a lovely piece of machinery but it's so over priced that it really can only be classed alongside bikes of the same price like the MT-09, KTM 890R and Street triple RS all of which are massively more powerful, plus this claim of 250 kph (156 mph) is nonsense, MCN tested it at 141 mph (225 kph) and the footage of it being tested at Snetterton showed R6s, GSX-R 600s and other supersport bikes going past it like it was standing still on the straights, realistically it's in a class of one as it's too expensive to be compared to the MT-07, Z650 or CBR650 and it's not a supersport bike.

Personal preference but I think the Ducati looks way better and that Aprilia engine is trash and I don’t mean in terms of performance.

Yes, it's called a SuperSport 950 but has a 937CC engine.

The Aprilia has "cool colors"? They need to delete most of the decals on the black and choose a less polarizing color than that weird yellow with red wheels on the version without the decals.

I want a white aprilia to compare to a white supersport...
@niek99863 жыл бұрын
You can’t compare the two bikes because the ducati is not a supersport! It’s a sportstourer.
@Kwackajack3 жыл бұрын
It’s literally called the Ducati SuperSport 950 😅
@gremer63 жыл бұрын
... neither RS660, it something between zx636 (which is a supersport) and CBR650R (which is a street CB650R with a different styling).

@@Kwackajack yes its called the supersport but it isnt one. Its a sportstourer that looks like one. Do some homework and you will see
@Kwackajack3 жыл бұрын
It can be used as one, sure. There are saddle bags available, but that’s not its primary purpose
@niek99863 жыл бұрын
@@Kwackajack yes it is😂. The riding position is much more relaxed then a supersport. Look at the bar handles. If you want to compare it with another bike then you should compare it with a VFR.

Man, I don't even see the comparison here. Horse power is close but these are so different on just about every level. To me the 660 is a toy with cheap switch gear and childish paint jobs. The Ducati is classy and elegant. The 660 engine has no torque, flat in the middle and too light. The 660 may be quicker in its steering but I want stability in a bike like this. The Ducati is in its own class....meaning, there is nothing else like it which is why we see comparisons like this. Part for part the Ducati is far superior in every way. I personally want torque on the road not a wind up toy.

RS 660, hands down 💪🏽 its position as some might called a "hero-model" like in the GPU universe RTX3070 of sorts where you can get quite the performance & all most of the bells&whistle of a fully featured bike can have... but without the excess weight... excess power that may be too much for some riders 🏍

The Aprilia seems to be the popular choice by far! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment mate 🙏🏻

SUPERSPORT 950 S: heavy mirror vibration - ineffective at best no cruise control small gas tank 4.2 gallon for a bike that offers a touring pkg. some minor low end engine vibration Quickshifter iffy below 40mph Still tricky to find neutral clock still inaccurate pannier brackets so UGLY, they must be removed when not carrying luggage, and panniers that are x-insecure (zippers) I have to travel 4 hrs to get on mtn roads so this bike appears very comfortable, but for the price, no cruise control, yet they offer a very expensive travel pkg?? GR8 suspension on S, but long wheelbase so it will probably take some work if you like to slalom. Want to buy one just wish they would deal with above LONG_STANDING issues.

the only problem with Aprilia is the service. They dont respect warranty and you have to wait weeks and weeks for your bike to get fixed. Buyer beware. I had to sell mine out of desperation.

Niether. Gimmie my 08 r6 flashed and ill take both of these bikes. Oh and buyer beware. This 660 will NOT get the “100” + hp to the rear wheel. It will he more in the 85-90 range. But none the less will be an awesome bike. And finally a twin with a little bit of soul. But way way over priced . Sorry but i would never put that much money into a 660 twin . They use the sayin of its the 1100 chopped in half. To sound sexy. But at the end of the day its still just a twin.

This video is certainly not an Apple to Apple comparo. Ducati any day holds superiority in terms of performance, legendary image, attention seeking and many more. To me Aprilia looks like another KTM and sounds no way close to the D.
