Venom is a lot of things: deadly, dastardly, mysterious... did we mention deadly? Though the Venom Symbiote has had many hosts, and a long backstory that is as confusing as it is fascinating, he has nonetheless become one of Spider-Man's best-known villains and one of Marvels' premier characters.
As with most comic book characters, there are often re-imaginings and different versions to a character’s past. We have chosen primarily to follow the storyline which unfolded in 1984’s Amazing Spider-Man #258 and 1985’s Web of Spider-Man #1 and which was expanded upon in 1988’s Amazing Spider-Man #300, 1995’s Venom Super-Special #1, 2009’s Venom: Dark Origin #1, and 2016’s Venom Space Knight #8 and 12.

Venom has always been my favorite Spider-man villain ! Venom was awesome in the Spiderman game from Ps1, Ultimate Spider-man game and in Web of Shadows . Hank Azaria was great as the voice of Eddie Brock / Venom in Spiderman TAS and thats the voice i grew up with .

yep pretty much , the venom movie cannot be an accurate origin story for venom with spider-man unless what i am hoping they will do is start the film with eddie under the clocktower and the suit goes onto him that way all the mcu needs to do is have the black suit be in spider-man homecoming 2 and for him to get rid of it under the clocktower that way it works ik this won't happen but heres to hoping

Red Parrot eh, how the movie is pitched its more like a horror movie. So what it might do is spend most of the movie without a host and then at the end acquire one. How it does this, idk, but that seems the most logical way.

Sony never should have forced Raimi to include Venom in Spider-Man 3. You would think the success of the first two movies would have given him the creative freedom to do New Goblin, Sandman, and Vulture as the villains as he planned, but Sony had to get heavily involved when Venom could have been built up and saved for another movie.

Venom to me is the perfect nemesis for Spider-Man, even better than the greet goblin, and I know that may seem like Blasphemy but it's how I feel. Think about it, he has most of Spidey's powers, but is stronger than him, he didn't set off his spider-sense and he knew ALL the ways to get at him at a personal level, its a level of menace and fear that makes for great stories. Hell one of my favorite Venom incarnations is the Spectacular Spider-Man one, his episode showed he was more than willing to go after Aunt May, and Gwen Stacy, now I LOVE the 90's animated series but even they didn't have Eddie try to attack Aunt May, he just went to look for Peter at his house, hell before he could turn into Venom in front of her Peter got him away form her, although only a few feet. But I'm getting off track a bit. The problem that arose with Venom was writers who didn't get him, making Venom an Anti-Hero, I don't mind. while Venom may have his own twisted sense of ethics, I find it more entertaining when he's focused on Spider-Man, also some writers and artists were downright weird with how they made him, the brains thing wasn't given a backstory back in the early days of Venom, and then there was the fact they made him drool ecto-cooler. my final thoughts, along with Carnage (despite being a little more one note than Venom, I love him just as much in his rouges gallery) Venom was my first supervillain as Spidey was my first superhero, Venom and Carnage will always be may favorites and I respect those who disagree with me.

Sasuke Uchiha The problem was that comics in the 90s were mostly just artists turning characters into bland violent anti heroes and sadly venom was one of these ...though thankfully the ultimate comics redeemed him

Sasuke Uchiha here's the thing tho: Venom knew how to get at him personally but he never hurt anyone close to Peter because he saw them as innocent victims of Spider-Man's "madness". Norman Osborn didn't give two fucks as long as he was able to personally get to him.

Sasuke Uchiha Because the Venom symbiote was once part of Spiderman, it absorbed much of his power ( i always thought that was cool) So that Venom was just as strong as Spiderman... I used to enjoy watching them fight in the cartoons!

Tony Ten Yep. if the Klyntar/"Symbiote" bond with someone that has negative intention it'll be corrupted and be the symbiote you know today

Tony ten yes, the symbiote, aka the klyntar, are ment to be heros. They call themselves the agents of the cosmos if the bonding possess is pure and complete, if the symbiote is corrupted then they are exiled from their home planet and can't unlock their true abilities but can be redeemed and cleansed.

Symbiotes are relatively a peaceful species, major difference with the Venom Symbiote was that it’s previous host was some evil insane alien warlord or something so the symbiote adapted his aggressive characteristics

Well they say this symbiote is evil because his first host was insane deadpool and then he was rejected by spiderman and his next host was eddy who hated peter parker so you have an insanity combined with hatered and rejection. And its all focused on spiderman

Slight issue here, the symbiote was FIRST removed via a sonic gun used by reed Richards. After bonding to the web head once again, he then used a belltower to free himself.

The lesson that Sony should learn is not to be so superficial with the character of Venom, that was the mistake they made in Spider-man 3 that all scenes were rushed and lacked depth since they tried to put too many other villains in the movie like Sandman and Hobgoblin

@@DarkAttackYT Because I just found it. But this doesn't change anything, killing spiderman is still a bad thing. Being an antagonist with Noble intentions is the opposite of an anti-hero, it's an anti-villain (serves as the villain of the story but it's redeemable for good qualities, whereas an anti-hero is on the side of good but lacks common heroic characteristics, they can be mean, vindictive and cruel against their enemies, for example). But my main point, is that he's spiderman's mirror image, he has a huge spider on his chest, and his eyes are supposed to be the "glasses" of Spiderman's mask (them being a permanent part of the klyntaar was retconned in planet of the symbiotes, as was the mouth, since it was originally Eddie's normal mouth without any sharp teeth or long tongue). His entire backstory is hating Spiderman, how do you do that without him?

I still argue Grace did a great job as Brock/Venom in Spiderman 3. no, its not the same Brock/Venom as the animated show or comics, but neither was Bane in Dark Knight Rises. why do i feel thats a good thing? well, I like to see different styles, personalities and abilities that stray from the source material while both paying homage to the original while making something new and different. besides that, I thought the acting may not have been perfect, but the movie was so rushed and cut, that, for what it was, it was still enough to give us a decent depiction of a more original version of Venom

Oh, give me a break about "Spider-Man 3" already, WatchMojo. Really, give, me, a, break. -_- I personally didn't think "Spider-Man 3" was 100% terrible, and even though his role was small, I truly DID enjoy Topher Grace as Eddie Brock/Venom. The Venom part of his portrayal alone WAS faithful to the classic comic-book Venom. So why all the hate?
