Melamine is very toxic when burned off, so while its a pretty cool technique, its made everything you've fired toxic, and your kiln is contaminated as well. Very interesting and cool idea, but I would recommend a different type of sponge.

Am I the only one that thinks that the sponge shown and the sponge for the sculpting is different? The first sponge shown is flexible. The sponge being worked on sounds like the dry sponge. Nevertheless very creative and an amazing result

Both sponges are same. I use melamine foam. Melamine foam absorbs clay, and I dry it. Dried enough, I burn it. Melamine foam burnt out, and ceramics are remains. Thank you for your comment🍃

I was wondering about the melamine sponge work. Do you bisque fire and still have filler remnants? And then what temp do you final fire? The video shows just a quick emersion in the watery slip. Do you dry and dip more time or is the thicness durable after one submersion? Thanks bill@@kanauedaceramicart

poetic product, like it. Does the ceramic sponge store water, so it could be used with true plants? Probably depends on the size of the pores, right? And this depends on the original sponge pore sizes..some samples had big pores like pumice stone, and some had pretty small ones. Interesting technique!

Isnt it quicker to make on a wheel? Theyre so small and quickly made. Seems they're fired only to 700°? Did I get that right? So still poreous and only good for dried flowers, especially if you can rub them with shaving paper. Its all only a guess, english translation please would help a lot, if possible that is.... Is this Japanese? Corean?

水を入れると漏れるのか。と、中はどのくらい空洞になっているのか。が気になりました。
