Supply and Demand Trading Secrets

Supply and demand often gets mixed up with support and resistance in trading. But supply and demand levels are completely different.
In my view, supply and demand is a leading trading tool for technical analysis. Supply and demand zones usually preceded support and resistance. And a trader that fully understands how to draw the right supply and demand zones can be one step ahead of most other traders.
Supply and demand zones may indicate price areas where the "big players" such as banks or banks initiate and build their trading positions. Thus, a trader may be able to use this knowledge to their advantage when it comes to identifying high probability price levels.

Hy Rolf! I have a problem with edgewonk. When I scale out of a trade with 2 profit targets for example, the software produces 2 winners, although it was only 1 trade initially, the result is that my statistic gets wrong. Is it possible that you guys could implement an option to tell the software that scale out trades should only count 1 time. (1winner and not 2winners) thanks!

@@Tradeciety Hy, thanks for your reply. If I check this box it won't show up as a winner but also not in the average gains in the simulator. Could you please advise what to do in my case? I would like to scale out of trades, at least sometimes but the data needs to be shown correctly.

Hi Rolf! I've just started looking into volume profile and i'm finding it really interesting. I've just started going back over old trades to see how it would have affected my performance and so far I'm finding it definitely could have kept me out of some bad trades. Overall I'm happy with my trading style but I'm always looking to improve and I think this will complement it nicely. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the topic in a future video. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a wonderful year to come! 🙂

Hi, great video, however I have a question. (14:20) When price rallied back into that supply zone and consolidated instead of selling off, wouldn't this invalidate this area as a supply zone? as you should expect to see a strong move away from that zone if institutional sell orders are present at this price level, instead of seeing consolidation which would suggest that there is not previous unfilled sell orders in that zone?

you can plot them easily by using the monthly and week charts . but it helps rather than support and resistance. I am a swing trader using daily charts. Placing supply and demand on the weekly, then the daily. You will notice where both coincide. And a chart pattern will occur on those where both aligned. Take that trade from there.

Do you take into consideration also supply and demand zones of bigger time frames like the weekly or monthly? Do you draw also support, resistance levels and what is the difference actually, if there is one? Thanks

Great video and great explanation of theory. However I missed a real time trading which would be the perfect in-field test to understand how to apply the theory to the real trading: when to buy is quite clear but when to sell is not and overall which is the trigger which would make me decide to sell based on the chart analysis. Moreover, there is no mention about the time-stamp...do you consider 1minute... 5minutes... 1 hours... chart? Does this theory apply to everything (stocks/forex/cryptos)???? thank you

Hi i would like to know if you factor the time range that i found under the comments of the post your site on this upload? I trade zones if price returns within: 5 min TF = 2 hours of zone creation 15- 30 min TF = 6-8 hours of zone creation 1 Hour TF = 24 hours of zone creation Daily TF = 1 month of zone creation Weekly TF = 1 year of zone creation

Works in every single market. Supply and Demand is the key component of ALL markets. Not just with stocks, FX, etc. think… you love ben and jerrys ice cream… Its at $5 a tub for it. If it all of a sudden goes to $10… you wont buy it until you find it at $5. (Demand). Think of it as wholesale and retail. Buying at wholesale is better than buying at retail (supply)

The SuppLy (kidding) and Demand zones look suspicious like Resistance and Support areas. Are they same areas with different concept names use to illustrate the function those price areas represent at the time we are discussing how to use them or think about them. It might be clearer to emphasis that there always the process of sellers and buyers at each zone with the difference in which act is in control of price movement. Do I have that right? At least for me its always confusing talking about accumulation verses distribution as both concepts functions are the result of someone selling and someone buying then the difference is which is in control the seller or the buyer will determine the price movement. Again my thinking might be wrong headed. However you discussion has lead me to have the conversation within myself so that my narration model will function in a way for profitable trades. The story is important! Thanks!

Good video but there is a one big issue everyone that covers Supply and Demand levels never go into more depth in once those zones are broken how and why etc just saying
@DonnyS.
@DonnyS. 4 жыл бұрын
Basically it's because the supply was actual orders from institutional traders (banks, hedge funds, BIG BIG money) had orders sitting there or were watching that area till the market came back to them. After all their orders, amount they wanted to buy or sell is gone, the supply or demand is gone. So if price comes back, the BIG money doesn't care cause they don't have anymore orders. Basically, the zones are the supply and demand of the big players. They are the only ones with enough money to move the price that much in such a little amount of time. And since they have such big money orders, it takes a while to get a position. Remember, for every seller there is a buyer and vise versa. THis is why zones can be called "fresh" cause there's still the BIG money wanting to sell at the best price. If they just click sell on a billion dollar order, the little guys/retail traders buying that don't have enough money. Lets say BIG money wants to sell a Billion at 1.2000, but the retail traders only have a few million combined at 1.200. All those buys get filled and then the BIG money order drops to the next place with a bunch of retail buyers with money, perhaps 1.9980, and so on. That's called order slippage. To avoid that, the BIG money has to sell a little, let the retail traders buy it, let price come back up, sell again to retail, and so on till they are out of their BIG money, or price drops to far from not enough retail demand and they decide to stop selling and wait till price swings back around. The price drops huge when everyone catches on and starts mass selling. It's LITERALLY supply and demand of actual money orders. Hope this makes sense. The main thing to understand is that there is 2 types of supply and demand. BIG money, and retail. They interplay off each other.

Key ideas: 1. Do not take trades blindly at a certain supply/demand area, wait for a pattern or a setup to occur 2. Consolidations before and after a breakout indicates accumulation from huge fundies. Me thinks. Correct me if Im wrong. Add more takeaways below 👇🏽
