Lynn spent a ton of money on the child's birthday party. James believed it was too much and did not participate in paying for the party. Lynn files child support on James. Will she get it?

Watching this reminds me of this boy’s mom at the daycare I worked at. This woman was on every county and state welfare program you could think of. There is nothing wrong with that if it’s needed. I questioned the need in her circumstance when she would brag to anyone who would listen how she spent $2-3 thousand dollars on gifts for her children (she has 5), every year for Christmas. And she was talking each, not total! The boy was 3! Now how do you have no income to pay for daycare, but up to ten grand to pay for Christmas gifts every year?! I never reported her to the county, but there were families on waiting lists for daycare assistance that couldn’t spare $20 on a Christmas gift for their kid(s). It just blew our minds.

100%. It had nothing to do with what the child wanted. At 8 years old she wouldn't even know who Tara Lypinsky is. That party happened because the mom was trying to one-up the other mom and daughter. And now she wants the ex-husband to pay for her financial imprudence? If I were the dad I'd sue for sole custody. She's going to have her child growing up to be entitled and snobbish.

Their neighbours get their kitchen redone, my auntie makes my uncle re do the kitchen and living room, and get a hot tub. It's never ending and my poor uncle just looks so defeated these days. Iv'e never asked but I have no freaking idea how they manage to afford all that crap, they are not wealthy people. $1500 is fucking insane for a birthday party. My Mom (God rest her soul) never spent that much on a birthday party for me, and I was happy all the same. Most of the time all she did was bake a cake for me and I was content with a couple of buddies of mine coming over and we all sit in a circle and puff puff pass the bong, joint, or both when I was in my teens and early 20s. The only moderately expensive birthday I ever had was when I was 8 ironically enough, and it was at a bowling alley where she paid money for me and a few friends and family to go bowling.

Me and my siblings did a shared birthday party twice when we were younger. Lots of people came with presents and stuff. We haven’t done big birthday parties since. Only inviting friends (all in the same family). I’m satisfied with just inviting a few friends and a few relatives as well as presents. I would be embarrassed if my mom spent that much on a party. Just invite friends over and tell them to bring cake and presents at your house.

@@TR-qk3oc We have it at our home. We live in the country, we have land to do lots of activitys on! I also cut cost by doing the cooking and baking. VS ordering in food. You can get cheap decorations at the dollar tree since you will only be using them for a day anyway. It works for us. 😁. The dollar tree (at least where I am at.) Has some great crafting supplies now, so you can buy supplies to do crafts with kids if that's what your child is in to. Mine also sells the helium balloons. So it's worked out fo us so far.
