When witnessing abuse, responding with silence only encourages the abuser to increase their reach. Thousands of independent recordings documenting the indiscriminate murder of Ukrainian civilians by Russia’s military, and reveal unfathomable harm being done to an entire nation. Every person shows the world who they are by the actions they take to stop it.
This video, accompanied by a solo of Ukraine's National Anthem, shows some of the courageous women in Ukraine’s military doing all they can to stop it.
Of the 60,000 women in the Ukrainian army, 5,000 of them serve in combat units directly on the front line. 350 women have been awarded titles of honor, two of them the highest title of “Heroes of Ukraine” (posthumously).
