The song was written specifically about verbal abuse in multiple forms: Somin & J.seph - internet hatred & hate comments Jiwoo & BM - abusive relationships Both are two sides of the same thing - J.seph falling in with people who egg him on to produce more hatred on the internet (keyboards/monitors/hoods), Somin being a recipient of hate comments (like idols - constantly watched and observed and torn down with any misstep) while BM showing that even "tough guys" can be victims of abuse too and Jiwoo with the mics/loudspeakers showing how the abusive words can get magnified within someone and cause that person to hurt themselves from it (her shooting herself, which could also be symbolic of her killing that part of her that held the 'love' for the abusive partner, or killing that part of her trauma). Both BM and J.seph wrote the song - it's actually absolute hell trying to get songs and choreography for co-ed groups. I think Somin mentioned on a vlive that they actually had to pretty much special order all of their songs because not many songs are written as unisex, same with choreography because you've got 2 sets of people who have different centers of gravity, different abilities and capabilities, etc. Thankfully J.seph and BM are confident enough in themselves to pull off the same moves as Jiwoo and Somin without making it drastically different (again because physical limitations and individual style) and the same for Jiwoo and Somin being confident enough with themselves to make their moves a little different from BM and J.seph's moves, even though they're executing the exact same steps.

The concept of this MV is actually about different kinds of abuse and how they affect people. BM represents physical abuse, Somin represents verbal abuse, J Seph represents cyber bullying, and Jiwoo represents psychological abuse. BM explained that there are 2 universe in this MV, and the only one who survived is Jiwoo. The two girls at the end are actually the same person. Jiwoo had to kill her tortured self from the other universe to break free.

Coed groups are logistically harder on companies. With single-gendered groups, you can (literally) shove them all in the same bedroom/bathroom, and it would be ok, but you can't do that really with coed groups. Also, girl and boy groups are marketed and appeal to audiences in different ways. That's why coed groups aren't really that common across the world. There have been other Korean coed groups, the ones that come to the top of my head are Koyote and Coed School. However, Koyote isn't really kpop imo & then Coed School (sadly) didn't last long before being split into F-ve Dolls (girl group) and Speed (boy group) who (STILL REALLY SAD ABOUT THIS) also didn't last that long. KARD is actually doing really well! (Love them so much). I think it's helped in part by the fact that they have such a large international fanbase! I even went to see them back in 2017 for Wild Kard Pt.2 😊

this song from what ive been is about fighting yourself and the story line is bacially is thier is 2 version of the members one that that that is all cut up which is one the resecving end of the abuse that thier self with out scares is doing and in the end the adused version just cant take the pain anymore so they kill thier other self it so that they can finally be free from pain it can also be interpated as the words of those that hate on them hurt like that of a gun just like the lyrics say

The members or KARD said that they wrote this song for people who are in an abusive relationship and it also represents their experiences with hate from the internet. Their scares or supposed to represent the wounds from the abusive relationship and it also represents the hate they get online. And at 8:04 you can see from that angle that it’s actually a paper gun which also in the lyrics say that "your words are like a gun shot" and at the end the girl who shot the other girl are the same girl. This represents letting go of her old self and her attachment to the abusive lover. I hope a I summarized it well. I did the best I could. If I missed anything plz correct me😄

in case you were wondering, the members' names are BM, J.Seph, Jiwoo, and Somin! BM is the guy who appears first and has white/blonde hair (his voice has the effects on it). J.Seph is the other guy who appears later, with a more traditional rap and black/dark brown hair. Jiwoo is the girl with the blonde/white streaks in her hair that you noticed, and Somin is the other girl with the brown hair!
