I thought the game was over but mannn, the boneheaded plays near the end. Also whenever I saw Willow was in the game, I give it a 50/50 on him being the first ejection. He's obviously a good player but MAN he is aggressive with his com, I swear half the casts I watch he's the first ejection.

My theory is that it's a side effect of being good at 1v1 ladder. On 1v1 ladder, things are so cutthroat that you HAVE to use your com. This isn't necessarily the case in team games. SoulRipper (the player, not the unit) was a good example of the risk/reward of using a com aggressively. They basically gambled the entire game on that play on the plateau, and very nearly paid for it. Willow, at least this time around, died claiming some insignificant and poorly defended edge mass. I wonder if fatigue was involved in that decision.

This was the first game I ever played in online multiplayer, and it was solely from watching Gyle's casts and it was totally worth it. My comment for the algorithm, and thanks as always for the content.

@@karionwhite2367No he had a chance. What he should have done was send the soul rippers to absorb asf fire while his asf clean up the skies. He would have lost half his soul rippers but he would have won the air fight. He made a huge mistake pulling his soul rippers back because it allowed the enemy team to just focus on the asf, when soul rippers are huge meat shields that could soak up a lot of fire to protect the asf. I kid you not, you can't fk it up as badly as that.

Well, it's a classic of doubling down for too long on the same thing. The gunships were working great for a while, but the critical part of winning is noticing when they've put all their eco into T3 SAMs and showing up with a bunch of Megaliths instead, rather than with the big gunships that they've been preparing for over the last 20 minutes.

Oof. T2 sat on those soulrippers for too long without using them meaningfully while they had total air dominance. Could have swept the entire left hand side of the map clean and choked out T1's economy.

Yeah, that incursion to the middle plateau was epic. The game probably would have been over 20 minutes earlier had that not happened.

@@maffin1012 I assume the thought process behind the action was, if he didn't do it, they'd lose the game, so even if he died it wouldn't matter. Better to try and fail, than fail from doing nothing at all.

Good cast as usual Gyle. I have to say though, I really don't appreciate when the players from opposing teams choose similar colours to each other. This one is particularly bad, we had Pink facing off against a different version of pink, brown facing off against a dark orange, and two greens that look almost identical on the mini map. so, I see units in amongst other units, and I think ohh cool, that's a good little army there, then all of a sudden, they start shooting each other and I'm like...? ohh those tiny coloured symbols are about 3nm of light wavelength different from each other and are therefore enemies! I wish the devs would implement some kind of unified team colour pallet setting, so that teams can only choose between certain colours that are naturally distinguishable from the other teams colour options.

yeah, it was basically game when you saw the air situation at the bottom - getting artillery up is all nice and well but doesn't mean much if the enemy just walks all over you

Team 2 played better, but ultimately the early center grab couldn't be overcome. Also, guy is right, the objective correct play is supported t3 gunships. But it's kind of paper rock scissors when you have teleporting lasers. Excellent match, very fun to watch.

So do the top players mostly feel Cybran are the optimal choice now? I know the commander is a bit more vulnerable at the start compared to some others - and their T2 point defence isn't great - but decent players can easily mitigate those issues it seems.

This was one of a series of battles where he got knocked out rather early on. Most of which he lost. With credit going to Cascade for him playing so well in the mirror position. Willowisp (AKA Willowisppsi) is a very good player, who always plays in a good spirit, but he's not invincible. And he does make mistakes. Check out replay 22140894. That's a battle that deserves to get cast, even more than this one...

I do kinda blame rawlegit for that loss, by refusing to re-distribute some of the inherited resources he made himself the single target and it bugged me so much how many open mex pointss he had in his sphere of influence. If he had given up one of the inherited bases, he prolly would have been forced to more diligendly take those mass points and get his team ahead in eco.

I feel like that guy has a point though, as fun as these games are to watch they do seem to be dominated by victory's caused by Gunship spam. Off the top of my head I don't even think Cybran have a tier 3 aa platform? (I don't remember seeing one on normal but maybe FAF changes this? Or maybe I am just wrong). That's why WillowWasp winning always seems to be entertaining to me because he usually seems to do it via another method.

Willow plays a lot of games. A lot of them desync. Or are not that memorable to watch. Usually because 1 side gets ahead early on and the advantage snowballs. What we've had on this channel over the last couple of years has been the cream at the top of his games. What has helped to produce some cracking "Wow, what did I just watch!" Willow battles is that he likes to play with a group of online buddies, most of whom are lower rated than him. Which does give him opportunities for pulling some outrageous wins out of the bag, via an inventive strategy or a last gasp clutch play.

He has not. t3 maa exists. IT was min 32, they dont have air for like 15mins, not a single sam, t3 maa and he suicides a single monkeylord into enemy bases and complains about air. Thats just a skill issue

@@ZazeHI'm not just talking about him though, I'm talking about generally as well. He just made me more aware of it. I see a lot of games where commanders are sniped by Gunships.

Classic example of how sniping players in full-share doesn't actually help. If a whole team is alive, it's way harder for them to make Scathii since the eco is all split up. Early kill on the pro is really the only com kill that matters.

@@Triaxx2 T3 gunships have 6k HP, t3 mobile AA does 200 DPS, 2x gunship range, half gunship cost, and half gunship build time. T3 mobile AA trades 1 for 1 with a T3 gunship at half the cost and half the time to mass the same numbers. Static AA T3 is even worse with half the cost, 2x the range, 5x faster build time. Losing to air requires a massive air discrepancy or massive incompetence because it is tinfoil.

20:20 thats why i hate playing with high rankers. Often taking insane risks for little payoff and die and then you are left with only low ranker teammated because the 2k playerr destroyed the mmr for your team.
