Hell yeah we’re still playing! The community is very active still. Plenty of matches going on at any time, plus there’s a whole clan scene too

@@corey5894 The thing is that everyone has a cpu by now which has ridiculously higher dual core performance than the best dual core CPUs back in the day. I played it with my dad's Intel E8400 which was one of the fastest core 2 duos back then and could barely play 20 by 20km maps for a longer period without the game being slowed down once there were some 100 units fighting but today I have an Ryzen 5600X and I can play 81 by 81km maps till the late game without lag or speed reduction. The community now lives Chris' dream 😁

Chris Taylor is unique in the gaming world as he's the only one who gets excited in showing off what he and his Engineers were able to create -- Some film makers make movies in the exact vein that they themselves want to see - Chris Taylor is clearly that person for Game Creation. Even if it's not your genre, the enthusiasm from this guy is palpable. And I absolutely loved Supreme Commander, and Forged Alliance, and Total Annihilation - absolutely amazing titles, all of them!

There will never be a supcom 3 and even if there is without chris taylor at the head it wont matter...Honestly I think Sanctuary Shattered Sun is the last RTS that has any hope of reviving the spark that TA, and forged alliance created. If that game fails or doesn't live to up to being as good as Supcom then I think its over...

I've played the beta to its full extent, for those who havent, you've missed out, but i can honestly say that this is the best RTS ever developed, once you play this game for a while, and then decided to come back to say war3 or starcraft, and then try to scroll/zoom out to see the whole map and you'll realise you cant, you will then return back to supcom, multiple people have admitted to this :)

@@GamersGuard A version with decent multi-core support would be much appreciated but this won't be possible because some idiots lost the source code. Therefore there is no legal way to remaster the original game. They could rewrite the code though if they had the funding - the problem though is that the game studio as well as the publisher don't exist anymore.

Compared to SupCom, Total Annihilation, or even Command and Conquer (which inspired Chris Taylor to make Total Annihilation), Starcraft has no strategy. Absolutely no strategy compared to those games. A good game with a good story, just no strategy.

I knew that every projectile is pysically simulated. My jaw still dropped when i saw that the nuke can hit planes too, if they are in its way.

Эта игра просто брилиант игровой индустрии. Даже спустя 15 лет игра не потеряла актуальность и у неё все ещё есть потенциал. Как бы хотелось, что бы на игру обратили внимание и сделали ей достойное продолжение или хотя бы ремейк/ремастер оригинала.

Anyone remember how back this game crushed a modern computer when it came out, especially with many units in play? C2D 6850 with 4gb of RAM and a ti 4600, fucked in the ass.

So cool to see when this was new. The galactic colossus was kinda high stepping back then. Also what the hell is that this? 1:55 Solar panel? Chris Taylor is the best. I hope he combines Total Annihilation and Forged Alliance. Hard core RTS. None of that goofy cartoony shit from supcom 2 and the people who did planetary annihilation.

thies games really rocks ass! im been playing games like starcraft and warcraft 3 sens the beta. and i can honestly say that thies game will make alot of people from those places leave and start playing supreme commander. i mean. you dont have a second to stay off focused. its WAR WAR WAR . your heartbeat will be up at 400 ever min ^^ and You will Love the feeling :P

my max of units cap was i think 600 ? we'll maybe more i dont know anymore but whe are talking of different games here SoaSE is great build different than supcom, you can't just put them together SoaSE is a great game love it for it's uniqeness but supcom is a master peace i like to give sup com a own genre and for SoaSE the same they are not even the same type of game you have other ressource gaining other strategie to win the games, so like the games for there own type of genre ;)

Sorry but Sins of a solar empire is very repetitive. Most players only use like 100 of the same unit while in Supreme Commander its unige to the style of the player.

i don't like people that are putting games in the same pot cuz they are together mixed in the genre of rts ..... if it is so then is starcraft a like every rts games (including sup com and SoaSE) and thats not possible. we have Different Eco, different build and different strategies and tactics. be smart people get brains ;)
