She reminds me of my Chinese neighbor who would feed my cats while I was on vacation. I would leave money in an envelope for her on the kitchen counter, but she never took it. I then left her flowers and she scolded me in her limited English that it's not necessary to give her anything for being a good neighbor. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away in her early 60's. I miss her so much. She was the most generous person and took such pride in being a "good neighbor" to me. She loved my kitties too and took very good care of them.

This reminds me a little of when I went to Japan. I was born there and left before I was 2 years old. When I was 11, we were living in Korea and my parents took me and my brother to Japan so I could see where I was born and started life. What I didn't know is there was an old woman who used to sometimes take care of me and she loved me so much when I was a baby. We went to visit her and she must have been in her 80s and she just cried and cried and said "Bikki-chan" over and over again. while hugging me. I don't think she ever thought she would see me or my parents again.

And that is something that strong souls hold on to. I survived that so I will survive this, For this can never compare to that. Obviously easier here is not the right word, but it's the one I have. I went to a pho restaurant so much during college that they pretty much treated me this way too, but they let me pay. They would not let me tip. But they would let me pay. 😂 Grandma had scars from the war, she was missing a finger I'm assuming napalm because it was definitely burns but odd formations. I asked about them quietly once when she was playing with my long hair as I ate and if they brought her pain. She's the one that told me this perspective. I miss them, I miss finding candy in my pockets and bookbag. I miss being brought tea when I didn't ask for it but she decided I did. 😂 beautiful strong souls who radiate nothing but love.

I’m from nyc ,32 I was raised by my grandma she’s full blown Puerto Rican but she married a Vietnamese man who also spoke French….she loved the Vietnamese culture and also mixed with the Latino love, this gave me good memories of my grandmother and also now I want to learn Vietnamese and learn more about my Vietnamese family

Watching this made me tear up. My wife's mother in the Philippines passed away a few months ago, and she would do the same thing for me. Feed me, take care of me and never accepting anything but a salamat and a hug. This reminded me of her big sweet heart. I miss her dearly.

I need me a Vietnamese grandma fr, I wouldn't mind having multiple granmas including my own! So so hospitable and just spoil us rotten! She won't take the money, she's too humble for that and she's gonna get what she does, 10 fold. Everything I listen to Vietnamese speakers it makes me feel like home weirdly and I have not an Asian bone in my body lol, but I love listening to it. Thank you for doing this video, hope you enjoyed every second with grandma!

Vietnamese are much more friendly than Chinese in general.. You dont see this much in China. Right now, Chinese media is talking bad about all foreigners but they dont like Americans the most, because of Taiwan and geo-politics, Sabbatical was just in China, and many Chinese people walked away from him when he said he was American.

@@tubester4567 i don't blame them - they've lied themselves into wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Serbia, Vietnam, have been involved in wars in somalia, yemen, sudan, and a whole host of other countries, and they have more than 600 military bases around the world and more than 300 biological facilities all over the world. Most recently, they've written a blank check to ukraine to encourage more shredding of slavic lives, and now they've found their way back into more intervention in the middle east. look up wesley clark's interview on the 7 countries that they were seeking destroy, much of which i've already mentioned. Last one is Iran, and it's all to convenient that they've begun a conflict in iran's backyard. America and the western countries haven't been a positive presence in the world, if we're frank.
