One of the things I've noticed about Supros is that when you are standing or seated in front of the amp, the text for the controls is upside down. The text is right side-up only if you're behind the amp. Some may not consider this a big deal, but it's still something to keep in mind.

Keep in mind, 50 years ago, amps were not exactly " backline "; they were sat in front of the musician as it was the PA for the instruments or band. So often the controls were oriented for the musician's view of the amp. I think modern vendors keep it that way for nostalgia and posterity.

@@atech9020 You're right. In fact, I'm old enough to have used some of those amps and for exactly these reasons. That said, I prefer to have the controls on the front of the amp--but that's all it is, a preference.

sounds great. finally companies are starting to understand the need for home amps. ide swap the first preamp tube(v1) to a vintage rca 12ax7a or brimar cv 4004 both will add warmth and richness to the mids and take this amp to the next level. i have a bassman 5 watt handwired clone built for me and a marshall 1974x which is 18 watts i love small amps .

The sound you get at 1:11, is what I call the Electric Guitar sound. MY Opinion. What I like I guess, like the opening of Him or Me by Paul Revere and the Raiders. But to each his own, some are into that HIGH GAIN super Crunch. That part/sound, would be a GREAT Tonex Capture that I would use. It's that Chirpy/Sparkly/Jangly Sound. I think GOOD paf's, and the Gibson Custom Bucker pickups have that sound built in. Thanks for an Honest demo, one way to make these Amps sound Bigger larger speaker cabinets, 12, or 2 12, 4 12's, but would not be an HONEST demo. I looked up this model on Reverb, the ones I saw only have a Volume knob on them. I would buy one over a Blues Junior.

Just ordered this amp! I'll put in my guitar shop for testing guitars after setup. It sounds really good for checking guitar tones for any guitar! Reverb sounded good.

I have one and love it for a bedroom amp,and pl a y clean with a little hair. My advise is to Play one before buying . They are built like a tank nice craftsmanship rock a sold. ,but they are very quite not loud as you my think of corse it's a five watt amp ,and ideal for apartment use , they a sound way bigger on the videos here on KZfaq because they are mixed up. You may be disappointed when you buy one blind.. so go play one ,I think the are a little pricey for what it is .but it is perfect for late night practice when you don't want to wake up the wife or kids or neighbors. But don't expect it to be loud with putting a mic to it. Some people are disappointed when the realize the low volume but 5 watts is not what you may think ,great for certain things and sounds very good. And has some cool and useful features built it makes it shine,just don't want you to get disappointed with 5 watts ,5 watts and totally clean with no break up gain backed off to super clean is very low volume perfect for me at night when the wife's asleep at midnight. Perfect for that. The main reason people return them is they are disappointed in the clean volume and the price ,they do sound great clean with just a little gain ,but to harsh with the gain turned up to much...

Built like a tank.. Well I encountered problems with number of them right out the box (Amulet, Delta King) Supros are no more built in the USA since 2020 /07, but China.. This one also.. Be prepared to problems. Just saying

They could be higher quality, especially for the price but you cannot deny the good tones. The only thing I don’t like is the constant discontinuing of amps and introducing new ones. A lot of the amazing classic ones were cut.

I've noticed that too - I have a Royal Reverb and a Tremo-Verb, both excellent but discontinued amps. I like the current lineup but I wish they still had those in there. I had really wanted a Comet when they were made also.

The tone between 1606 and 1605r is quite different. Personally, I think 1606 is better, with more punch. However, I still ended up buying 1605r, needing the master volume and reverb for low volume use. If you can crank up the volume, I would recommend 1606.

It is priced similar as the amulet, what could possibly justify that? Amulet has more features, more volume but also able to attenuate. Is the tone in the Super 64 better than the amulet? One is import and the other USA made?

@@JackFossett This Supro you demoed here sounds really great as well. The product I was most impressed with from them is the Trem pedal with the harmonic trem and the built in preamp boost.

Have you ever tried the Supro Custom 10 or 12? They are 25W with effects loops. Just curious what you'd think of them as pedal-platform amps?

@@JackFossett The Royale looks very close to the Amulet, at first I thought it was thr amp you were reviewing! Well I 'be just ordered the Amulet, couldn' t resist. I'm trying to find my secret weapon amp, tested the AC10C1 and found it too bright. Also the Fender Vibrochamp Reverb that was too polite sounding for me. Both great amps but something was missing. I have high hopes for the Amilet, but I think it will be right where I want it, a Fender (kind of scooped) with more meat.. The Vox was just too aggressive, it was impossible to remove a bright background, even with the treble all the way down. Putting more bass didn't change it, just more thump and bass presence, but that fizzy ice pick thing was still there..

I really like the tones of this amplifier, but especially with the Telecaster on the clean setting there is noticeable hum. This does not make it ideal for recording, does it? I am asking because I'm thinking about purchasing it

I'm confused why would use the Supro Reverb output jack and connect it to the amp#2 effects loop return? instead of the amp#2 input jack?

The Supra Reverb’s output jack sends a line-level signal out from the amp’s preamp circuit. An effects loop on an amp basically allows you to place effects between the preamp circuit (which amplifies instrument level signal to line level) and the power amp circuit (which amplifies line level signal to speaker level signal). Connecting the Supro’s output jack to the return (aka power amp in) of another amp’s effects loop allows you to bypass that other amp’s preamp circuit, going straight to the power amplification circuit. Running from the Supro’s output into the other amp’s main input would cause the other amp’s preamp stage to redundantly add gain to the Supro’s line level output signal. In practice this would lead to a lot of additional distortion, likely not the pleasant kind.

Nice video! Do you prefer this amp tone over the Delta King? I’m not sure what to buy between this, the delta king or amulet. I need to take car of my ears but want good tones!

I have this one and HAD the Delta King, these are better for their master vol flexibility, and tone. The OD on the Delta King is a bit harsh to my ears.

Was that Tool at 13:10? Love it. I’d prefer this to a Blues Junior for the home practice / studio room. But I do wish it had a 10” speaker and perhaps a slightly bigger cab.

Actually that’s a riff from an original of mine that’s coming out soon - this does also have speaker outs which I didn’t get into, so it could be used with an external cab.

Cool, btw not sure what I was thinking on the Tool reference. I was thinking of a song called Invincible at around 1:20 and the Tool riff is clean and similar-ish vibe but overall very different riff.

How does this compare to delta king 10, I have one on loan, waiting on a 12, they seem impossible to get in oz I’ve started looking at an amulet or one of these

I had this amp for nearly 2 years and had to get rid of it. Problems from day 1. Had it replaced and the replacement unit broke. Just really poor quality from Supro.

Ugh, that is so sad to hear. But thanks for sharing. Maybe I will look at other manufacturers. There certainly are a lot of options at this price point.
