Surah Al Mulk, peaceful recitation by Shiekh Sudais
Surah Al-Mulk, also known as “The Sovereignty” or “The Kingdom,” is the 67th chapter of the Holy Quran. It consists of 30 verses and is a Makki surah, meaning it was revealed in Mecca. This Surah emphasizes the absolute authority and power of Allah (SWT), reminding us that He is the creator and ruler of the entire universe12.
The Surah begins with the verse: “Blessed is the One in Whose Hands rests all authority. And He is Most Capable of everything.” (67:1). It addresses the themes of Tawheed (the Oneness of God), the creation of the universe, the purpose of life, and the Day of Judgment. It warns of the severe punishment for those who disbelieve and reject Allah’s message, while also giving glad tidings of forgiveness and a mighty reward for those who fear Allah’s anger without seeing Him (67:12).
Surah Al-Mulk is known for its benefits, including protection from the punishment of the grave and intercession on the Day of Judgment. It is recommended to be recited regularly, especially at night, for its spiritual rewards and to strengthen one’s faith.
