Very 'straight' guy here, who also loved this show, and says a loud BLEEP to its cancellation. All the garbage keeps running, and the great, thoughtful work gets the hook.

Such an impactful show! I am reading The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister. She was definitely such a personality! But, this show also has an incredible energy! I am so grateful that it's been done this way because someone else might have ruined such an extraordinary life story. And both Surrane and Sophie make the women come alive (and I mean both the women they portray and the women who watch them). Thank you so much!

I fully recomend a visit to Shibden Hall in Halifax it makes you " feel" as your really there 200 yrs ago.Beauiful place,Beautiful location.

I wonder if the paintings with the image of Ann Walker and Mirriam have survived. And I am curious: why Lydia Leonard is not present at various meetings with fans? She plays a very important woman in the life of Anne Lister. Does anyone know it?

There is 1 photograph of Marian as an old woman. No painting survives of Ann Walker. Lydia is a busy actress and although Mariana was important to Anne Lister she's not a main character in gentleman jack.
