I’ll be there again 4th of July week. I hope to do just that. I have seen someone with small live pin fish casting in front of them. Any other lures I could keep tied on just in case I see one?

@@easonadventures There should be plenty of snook on the beach there at that time. Free lining live pinfish is nice. As for lures, D.O.A. jigs work really well. Mirrodine lures are fun to use. You'll get jacks and lady fish with those. Spoons are good. Use a fluorocarbon leader 3 feet long or more. The thinner the better, you'll just risk being cut off. Don't use any terminal tackle like snap swivels or wire. I was going to go out there today, maybe tomorrow. I just walk the beach starting at dawn. It's great just to walk the beach. Very peaceful. I have a Grady White boat that I take out of Clearwater Pass. I head north to the islands. Caladesi, Honeymoon, Three Rooker and Anclote. Those beaches are nice on the week days because there's hardly anyone out there. Good luck.

@@easonadventures You should catch one. You'll at least see them. They come right up to the beach. You don't need to get into the water to cast for them. They are hard to get to hit a bait sometimes. They'll swim right by your bait and you. Then, like turning on a switch, they feed. It has to do with the tides.

It’s very nice calm water. No excuses but the red tide may have hurt the fishing a bit this trip. Still a lot of fun.

A Pompano would have to be suicidal to eat that rig

@@gigabilitydontask1549 wasn’t actually going for pompano in Clearwater but I did catch a pompano on a similar rig in Destin on a trip down there several months back.

I try not to but stuff happens especially when I get excited with a fish. I clean them thoroughly which is why I’m still using the same Penns passed down from my dad bought in the early 90s. Just recently updated to an actual surf rod/reel but hopefully it will last just as long. It’s a Penn as well
