Firefighters are such an underrated class of workers. I remember when me and my older brother were younger living in the slums of trenton NJ. We were one with the court system at that point and headed for nothing but jail. We were starving back then and would have to rob houses for money just to eat every day. That aside, we decided to go to this local firehouse and asked the guys there for some money, mainly because we needed food and clothes. These guys sat us down and for the next hour or so just let us chill out with them. Large muscular guys you can always feel safe around. I was being abused a lot at the time so being around people who seemed to strong and protective made me feel happy. They showed us around the place and let me play in the firetruck. Gave us some food and let us eat at the table with them. By the end they'd gave us around 100+ bucks each and told us we could always get a job there as long as we knew them and stayed outta trouble. Really turned our life around. We slipped up a few more times after that but really cleaned up. Now we don't do any of that crap anymore and can sustain ourselves with hard working jobs. It's all thanks to those guys for putting that mindset in us. Much love to you guys down in trenton, I know it's been dangerous out there as always, please stay safe! 💜💜 TL;DR For those that don't care: some nice firefighters basically reformed a couple of hoodlums. Turned them into actual men.

My dad was a firefighter for 35 years before retiring as lieutenant. It was always sooo cool so spend time at the fire house . Such regular guys but when that bell goes off , they’re true heroes .

Father in law is a retired firefighter. Some Of the best Christmas and thanksgiving dinners I have ever had was with him and his crew and families. Firefighters love food.

Fire department and paramedics are some of the most down to earth coolest people you meet I remember feeling less than because I was only an ambullette driver(wheelchair van) but every time they saw me they didn’t give a fuck they said what’s up and chopped it up with me in the break room and I’m from a completely different company.

my dad has a story from thanksgiving at the fire station, his best friend loved spicy food and wanted to inject the turkey with hot sauce, but nobody else did. well, they cut open the turkey and my dad got upset cause it looked undercooked. as he was about to throw it back in the oven, his best friend admitted that he had injected it with hot sauce when nobody was looking and that’s why it was red inside. i guess he thought nobody would notice and when everyone said “oh this is so good” he’d reveal the secret triumphantly lmao

If you still support the troublemakers even in scenarios like what I just mentioned, then I'm sorry for wasting the effort for trying to open your eyes. 🤷
