15lbs leader line (10lbs will work)
40lbs main line (15lb is enough)
1.5oz weight (change to 3oz if wave is strong)

Love your videos! Taking a family trip to Seabrook soon. Are surfperch line-shy? I have a store-bought steel wire high-low rig. Will that work or is mono/floro line required?

I always use mono lead line, can't really tell whether steel wire works

you can use magic thread and loop it around a couple times to keep it on the hook

If you use raw market shrimp, it will be fine. Don't use cooked shrimp

June and july is spawning season for surf perch. Live bait is better then those gulp worms.
