This episode is about in 1912 a young Hawaiian Duke Kahanamoku who went to Stockholm and won the 100 meter freestyle Olympic Gold medal which would spread the word worldwide about his island paradise. He then would spread the word worldwide about his love of surfing and it should also be an Olympic sport. Today it is, Duke’s dream came true currently the exhibit in the HB International Surfing Museum.
Surf Scene host Peter "P.T." Townend takes a walk through the Surf Museum to see the Duke's Dream Came True exhibit. He speaks with Bart Genovese about his Duke Kahanamoku surf board; Bob Mignogna, publisher of "Surf Magazine"; Greg Cruse CEO of Team USA Surfing; Brett Simpson Champion Surfer and coach of the 2021 USA Olympic Surf Team; Kaleigh Gilchrist, two time Olympic athlete.
