Pro-tip: I always put coconut oil on the length of my hair before I go out to surf or do any beach activity (I have thick curly hair, so maybe just the very ends would work better for some people if you're worried about looking greasy). I find it helps it not to tangle and of corse once you go home and do your regular hair wash routine it's like you did a hair mask! Worth a try for sure.

Major tip: frequent haircuts and “dusting” along with putting Shea butter and/or cocoa butter and/or coconut oil before going outside and into the water. However, don’t put the oils/butters on your scalp if you’re going into fresh or salt water. Slay water is really beneficial for us. I know people say it dries your hair, but it only dries out your dead ends. I have dry curly hair and it loves salt water, especially the scalp area. Trust me❤️ Salt water deeply cleanses and detoxifies our skin and bodies. If your ends get dry it’s because they’re dehydrated or dead, and the salt water just takes out the product build up and shows you the truth.

Hi Eryn! I'm not sponsored or anything but I've been using the Garnier Fructis 1 minute hair mask (papaya) and it's amaaazing! I leave it on after I wash my hair until the next time I wash it and it has hydrated my hair so much. I'm always in the ocean and my hair gets pretty dry and frizzy, so this is a legit life saver :) *And you smell amazing because of the papaya* Just wanted to share with another beach babe 💙

I currently swim in the mornings and surf occasionally. My hair is a very difficult texture, I add a little bit of leave in conditioner and after I take a shower, and add more after practice. I use coconut oil all over my body and hair every night. When ever I surf though, it’s always after practice and my hair is actually really soft from all the conditioner. Going in the ocean with conditioner in my hair really helped. Also I sorta shower every other day and I also use an exfoliating shampoo.

when i go to swimming i condition my hair and braid it ... when i go and reins it off my hair look so smooth and it felt really good so my advice to you is condition your hair and braid it you will see a lot of different :)

I was searching for videos on how to fix my sun frazzled hair and came across this. I've never heard of you but our lives are oddly aligned. I'm an ex college swimmer, ex pro surfer who still surfs all the time, and an ocean lifeguard. Super weird that I use sun bum and olaplex. They're not quite cutting it for me bc my hair is way blonder than yours but I appreciate that you also have the same issues and I'm not alone. Thanks for sharing, I'll check out your channel.
