Always support your child in these situations as much as you can - the trauma comes from being or feeling left alone in such a situation, because the child cannot carry it. It´s not the physical pain which causes the trauma, it is the situation and what happens inside of you. I cried as a little child out of fear when getting earrings lol it was traumatic, because I wasn´t supported. The same as other things, medical stuff, even small ones. It still affects me because I wasn´t supported. It is a problem that children are being left alone with it, even when it is not a situation, where it is about saving a life and it needs to go fast - but just a doctors appointment and the children are being thrown into the situation without supporting them and guiding/helping them through it. I know that a parent feels helpless, because they think they´re powerless in such a situation, but just wanted to point out, that it is possible to support the child and helping them
