I realized that there is also another crate in the game that's named surplus, I don't normally call that crate a surplus crate though, I usually call it a "Vietnam" Crate, since it spawns weapons that are from the vietnam era

The Hi-Power would have also been acceptable in this challenge. It was also one of the few guns to be used by the U.S. and Germany in WWII. (Actually I think it was the only one, but still.) The Auto-5 would be fine too, as it was used in both world wars, but not as widely/famously, and its not that great compared to the other choices in the game.
