The Cuirrassiers made them even look more dashing. Cool fact, they won it during the Napoleonic War. The French came up with that and ended up losing it 😆 Long live the British Cavalry! 💂🐎💂🐎💂🐎💂🐎💂🐎💂

Don't get too worked up folks... I think this is all we Brits have left! We can't keep living in the past, we need an Army, and we haven't got one.
@peterpluim791228 күн бұрын
Don’t take this the wrong way but I think the French approach to ceremonial troops is smarter. The Garde Républicaine à Cheval is a military formation and part of the gendarmerie. They still have the pump when necessary but most of the time the horses are used policing France and riders can also drive motorcycles. They have policing powers so they can actually guard a politician, a building or in the worst case shoot at civilians without legal nightmares. They have SWAT-teams, snipers and can provide close protection. Seems to be a far more sensible approach than preparing military formations for ceremonial duties and retrain them for field operations. Again, it is a lovely and impressive sight to see but it is a very expensive use of troops, and it is not exactly respectful to make a fighting soldier stand guard at horse guards where he becomes the but of bad jokes and rude people.
