That wonderful, intelligent baby was using a TOOL! She was upset it broke. Then she went back to see if it could be fixed. That is awesome! So intelligent.

I think she was scared she did something wrong...and then when her mom didn't come over to reprimand her, she went back to the stump. I think she was shocked that she was able to knock it down. What a beautiful little sweetheart!

Well,elephants are so nice at heart,I guess the kid is worried that it hurt the log and wants it back standing.How utterly nice of him for worrying for the log.

Baby elephants, especially Asian/Indian babies, often have more hair when young and it gradually thins as they get older. Some have more than others. Besides, it makes him an individual and kinda cute. :)

This baby could use a nice warm bath , he itches, probably from dry skin. Olive oil works great on dry skin. Elephant's have severely dry skin often, from sun exposure.

She is pretty bright. She clearly knows which end broke, but she also acts like she thinks she may have "killed" it. What a cute little fuzz-ball! Maybe I should say "was". She would be 9 years old now. What every happened to her?

Elephants are very sensitive and care deeply about living things and mourn death. He seems genuinely concerned he hurt or "killed" the tree stump.

Elephants think in a way similar but not exactly like humans. He or she is thinking about why its favorite scratching post fell over. You can tell this by how it focuses on the base that used to be stuck in the ground. Unlike a human or another primate or a bird, an elephant won't try to fix something it has broken. If one ever did, that would be a really cool leap by these highly intelligent animals. I wouldn't put it past an elephant to do so one day.

These are indeed orphaned elephants. There's other videos about this sanctuary and this particular little elephant as well.
